Crashes and turns off XBOX during campaign

Me too, playing on Xbox S and X consoles via disc.

Same exact problem and symptoms as op.

Playing from UK.

This happens not only on my Xbox One S but on my Xbox One X also, game gets to loading screen, music distorts (it sounds like it is still playing but it's very slow and distorted), xbox becomes unresponsive and shuts down my xbox after around 10-50 seconds of being on the loading screen.

NOTE: Interestingly both xbox's cannot be turned back on and restarted via its controller, power button must be pressed to restart. 

Happens on the last mission discoveries only, every other mission works perfectly, Multiplayer works perfectly and daily card collection and claiming system works perfectly.

Worked for 20-30 seconds initially first time, now will not work at all, have tried mission resume, select mission and loading by finishing previous mission.

No dvr or cortana turned on, or background programs running in background.

Tried fresh install, clearing local save, reducing resolution, wired and wireless network, factory reset! (Which I'm not happy about) lots of smaller changes like changing video settings.

I was really enjoying the campaign as well, I'm really upset about this as nothing seems to work to fix it.

I have never had a campaign that is totally unplayable before.

We need some EA assistance to look into our accounts.

Nothing works. 

If this a problem with discs then we need a free digital install source that can be validated with our discs. 

If this is a problem with the game as a whole this needs to be patched once and for all as I have read many other reports of this problem.

Yes, exact same issue! (including not being able to turn the Xbox back on with the controller). My game is not disc based, by the way. It's very frustrating that this keeps one from completing the game, and nothing has been done to fix this.. i've read others having this issue with the same mission on xbox.

That's really interesting that the controller will not turn the Xbox back on, it suggests that the Xbox requires a manual power on action possibly due to the Xbox cutting out to protect itself from a catastrophic error.

I have not had any error messages or codes during or after the crash, suggesting that the Xbox becomes unresponsive very fast and shuts itself off quite rapidly for self protection before it gets a chance to make a report.

This made me quite reluctant to try again until contact from EA has been recieved as I have tried maybe 15+ times to rectify this.

Especially reluctant now that I know this is across different models, disc and digital install sources and running on recent updates.

The rest of the game works perfectly so I can only guess that it is poor code left over from a previous update. 

I hope that I don't have to wait for a patch to be issued before I can finish the first campaign.

Also what is even more frustrating is that I cannot skip it and access the second campaign while I wait for a fix. It requires me to finish all of the 1st campaign before I can start the second.

Like I said I'm seriously bummed out about this as I was enjoying the campaign and how great it looks and plays on a 4k display.

Have you recieved any contact at all from EA yet?

I have the same problem and found this topic.

After I tried a hard reset, reinstallation of the game and format the console (oh God!) and nothing this have worked, maybe I have figured out a way to escape this glitch after seeing a topic about a similar problem in Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/comments/842xzn/tech_xbox_one_x_shutting_downagain/)

I turned off the HDR on my Xbox and TV and selected to start the mission from beginning. In loading screen I press the guide button and waits, with Battlefront in the background. And waits, waits... waits a long time. Loading screen won't dissapear, but after minutes the loading is complete, so, I can back to the game and this time the game didn't crash! I don't know if I had lucky or this works for everyone.

I have the same issue. Any answers for this yet?

I just tried this myself to finish off the campaign once and for all, it did not work for me unfortunatly on my x1 ☹️

This seems to be a regional problem.

I havent heard of anyone from N. American continent having this issue.

A very interesting observation, although the games are not region locked anymore, you believe the US/North America region may not have been affected??? Hmmm

We can easily test this together so let’s find out.

Its the only way to be sure.

+ The only way we can collect more data on the crash (as EA is clearly not helping us atm).

OK OK so where is everyone playing from? 

My game was bought in England/UK and I am playing it in England/UK. 

What about you guys?
