8 years agoCrashing to Desktop
I experience random crashing in both single-player and multi-player. There is no error message, the game simply closes. However, it appears that crash dump files are generated; I can provide them o...
Since about a week and a few days ago, the game crashes regularly. The screen freezes for a few seconds, before finally quiting the game completely. The issue seems to be most common with spawn screens and starfighter assault, but within 15 minutes in galactic assault, the game is likely to crash.
I'm not really a computer wiz so I don't know what to do. I've tried rolling back my Nvidia driver, but that didn't help. I played without controller (I normally play with controller using inputmapper) but it still crashes.
I have a GTX 1070, 16gig ram, Intel Core i7-7700k with 4.20Ghz.
I've played the game for 180 hours without an issue and now suddenly this happened
I've been crashing on the regs for the last 2 weeks. It's brutal day to day. EA doesn't care about their customers. EA does not care about their customers. EA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS! The only time I can get a response from them is doing a work around the profanity filter. Sad as hell. The game is way better that the steaming pile of StarWars BF1. They learned a little by getting rid of p2w but now they just don't care. How many times did I crash tonight? Only twice. Wow, only 2! That's great! It's even better as a crumby player finally getting a good streak on a hero then ......FREEZE AND CRASH! Game wasted.
EA, do something about your game. Do something for your paying customers. Even a little response. Tickle me in the naughty place so I know there is still feeling.
For me the game crashes most in campaign, it's basically unplayable. It usually crashes on initial load, or when you hit the end of a scenario. When you spend your whole time loading the game and waiting for the crash lottery to be announced, it gets tiresome very quickly.
Multiplayer appears to be more stable for me - I don't know why.
Me also - played absolutely fine since I got the game until the update that fixed the rewards issues.
As much as I like the 500 credits, I would rather have a stable game thank you very much.
Have tried updating to latest AMD drivers (18.2.1) and still same issue. For me it happens when playing the next map in Starfighter Assault - I can log in, play one round and 9/10 times it will just disappear to desktop when loading the next map. No error message, BSOD, anything.

Thanks for starting the thread.
Well another night and more crashes. This is so much fun! Thanks EA! Thanks for an amazing night of crashing. No need to address this. No need to respond to the obvious problems with you game. This is so much fun. I crashed 2 times in the last 20 minutes. Playing the objective is to see at what point in the game you will crash. What an experience tonight. So much fun. Fun fun fun fun. I love crashing.
Should I try again? Am I a sucker for punishment? I guess so if I forked out $55 dollars of hard earned money. Why should I get my monies worth? That would be crazy of me to expect to play a game I paid for. Silly me. I'll keep this thread going and document every crash.
9:10pm (PST) & 9:27pm(PST) Freeze to desktop.
Everyone, join in on the crash count. Only 2 tonight, but hey, I've only played for 45 minutes. That's not bad!
I have the same problem.
it occurs when trying to start a multplayer game. in the loading screen the framerate drops and it crashes to the desktop
for all of you:
check out the mdmp files that are generated in the "~\Documents\Star Wars Battlefront II\CrashDumps" folder
my two constantly appearing crashes are
0x887A0006 and 0xC0000005
I filed a bug report on tuesday, but nobody even bothered answering...
Same issue here, randomly crashes to desktop without error message. Check in the documents folder for BF2 and it has the 0xC0000005 error mini-dump. The game is another junk product of EA/DICE.
New night and more crashes! Woot! This game is so much fun. Thanks again EA for giving us a stable game. Well worth the money!
Let's document them:
8:09pm Crash 1
Now we have Sound crashing! Amazing new unlock!
8:36pm Sound crashing
9:18pm crash.
10:12pm sound crash and game crash. Good night so far!
10:22pm crash while game loading....man this is awesome.
10:38pm crash again while loading
Well another great night of gaming with Origin and EA! Man am I satisfied. At least I got 54 straight minutes of game play. Hey EA, that is pretty, pretty, prettyyyyyyy, good.
See you all again for another exciting adventure of Star Wars BattleCrash 2
Game constantly crashing midgame
I haven't been able to finish 1 game in 3 attempts today. It crashed 3 times in 45 minutes.
