Display settings don't return to default after quitting the game

I was just playing Battlefront 2 in fullscreen mode as normal today and quit the game as I always do. When the game closed out, it did not return the monitor I use to play to its normal/default settings like it always has before. I've spent an hour googling different color and display settings, but nothing is working. I also did the obvious: restart the computer and unplugged the HDMI cable and plugged it back in. None of this helped.

I attached a screen shot for how it's supposed to look and then what it looks like stuck in Battlefront 2 settings. Apologies that I couldn't size the screen shots the same, but for whatever reason these forums kept telling me the file size for the stuck in Battlefront 2 settings screen shot was too large.

Appreciate the help!

  • Hey @bazackward  do you have several monitors connected to the PC and is the monitor connected to the external GPU and not the motherboard port?

  • I do have several monitors connected to the PC, but they are connected to the GPU that is attached to the motherboard. I don't have an external GPU.

Thanks for the info! Can you up load a dxdiag. 🙂

I assume running SWBF2 as admin don't change anything and you are not running several desktops at the same time?

  • @EA_Atic I'm not sure if it will still be helpful. I ended up rolling back to my system to the previous restore point and it fixed the problem. I've also played SWBF2 several times since then and haven't had it repeat the problem. Since it happened, I just create a restore point before I play just in case it repeats itself.

If it is helpful, I can still upload a dxdiag and, to answer your questions, I do not typically run SWBF2 as admin and I am not running several desktops at the same time.

It could be many items to why a system restore worked. But thanks for the update. No need for Dxxdiag. 🙂

    Thank you @bazackward
