I turn on DX12, I launch the game, it crashes. I have to go into the text files to change it back because I can't even get to the settings in game.

  • @ggibb65 Worked for me, thanks a lot man. I also had this Windows stop error "DPC Watchdog Violation", still trying to figure it out though.
  • I have the same issue. Just got this game for free on Epic. The menu works fine but as soon as it tries to load into a map, it crashes to desktop. No error message. Nothing in the event log either. DirectX 11 works fine though.

    7700K, RTX 3070

  • Right here with yah, have an i9 9900k and RTX 3090 and crash immediately upon loading the map.

Hey, I was having this problem, it might just be a fluke but I turned all settings down to low, turned vsync off and ran the game in windowed mode but left dx12 on, it loaded into a game and I then turned all settings to ultra, no crash and then I quit and started a new game and it loaded fine after that.

  • I have the same problem in October 2021. I used to run the game without problems but now for some reason it crashes.

    In the boot options file:

    "C:\Users\%NAME%\OneDrive\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II\settings"

    I have changed

    "GstRender.EnableDx12 1"

    to "GstRender.EnableDx12 0"

The game after this change works, but graphics are poor, I only get 60fps with an RTX3090 at 1440p and the graphics card works at higher temperatures

This worked for me, thank you! Didn't mess around with V-Sync but resetting the Video settings as per the post fixed my game. Now running @ Ultra settings with DX12, mind you FPS is kinda hit and miss so far.

  • This is on the older side of time, I'm closing this thread to stop it from being necroed.
