Emperor Palpatine "Sith Eternal" Appearance Issue

Since the "Sith Eternal" appearance for Emperor Palpatine was added to Battlefront II, it has been a consistent visual problem for some players including myself.

In close proximity, anyone viewing the appearance - as well as the player using Palpatine - will note that nothing is wrong with it; however, it is only once some distance has been placed between Palpatine and another player that the issue is revealed.

The "Sith Eternal" model is a complete mess from a distance. Palpatine's hood pops off of his head, and when he runs around, it jiggles behind him. Whenever he dashes forward, his entire cloak sticks to the point where the player dashed from, then quickly catches up, which causes this unsightly, stretching abomination for a second - and with Palpatine users dashing constantly to move around faster, the times that this stretching can be observed are too many to count.

It is apparent that the community prefers this appearance over the default look for Palpatine, and as such, it is literally impossible to play the game for more than a few minutes without seeing this problem taking place. It's been nearly a year since Battlefront II's development was prematurely shut down, and therefore, this visual problem has not been fixed in the same amount of time, despite a handful of patches being released for the game since development's end. I implore EA to look through this topic - to see all the other players experiencing this issue - and to finally take action on this long-ignored matter.

  • I'd like to resurrect this month-old post in the hopes of getting the attention from an EA representative. This issue needs to be fixed.

  • @TheGamerSealI disliked that new Palpatine skin trend anyways, so at least I can say about myself that I'll keep using the classic and never cause irritation to your eyes.

We all know and hate this clipping issue of the second Palpatine skin too, but unfortunately there's no way to fix this anymore as the devs were put out of charge.

Or let's say, EA is no longer willing to invest any more money into this, which is why no one will get paid for working on this game anymore and therefore doesn't do it.

The last sign of the devs after the end of EA support was the Grievous claw rush and Maul block hotfix which was made by one guy on his own.

Fixing the Palpatine skin will most likely require a lot more work, so good luck finding anyone working for EA/DICE who'd do that for free.

  • @TRlALON Foolish as it may seem, I'm still holding out hope that EA and DICE will realize their massive mistake and renew development for Battlefront II. The "vision" as Dennis called it is not "complete".

I wouldn't even mind a monetization scheme, as long as it wasn't scummy.

@TheGamerSealThe problem is that EA obviously relied on receiving money from the lootcrates, but when they were gone, they completely lacked any sort of monetization concept which sealed the end of this game from this point on.

I guess we can be lucky that they felt the need to do some image work or else they'd stopped investing money into the game's development much earlier.

The timing of support end was surprising maybe, but not that support won't last longer than maximally 2 years after release.

  • Can you blame him for his hood falling off his head? He’s running around and dashing and jumping everywhere. It’s a miracle his hood isn’t completely off all the time.
