Extreme stutter - even in single player

The game stutters a lot, especially in single player..in multyplayer it has it's moments but for the most part it runs smoothly, while in singleplayer it has like a a quick drop of fps every minute or less, it does not depend by the graphics settings because it happens on all settings, even low. I don't know what to do, sometimes it just stops completely for a few seconds and then the game just shuts down. I have an i5 3570k 4.2Ghz , 8GB of ram and a GTX 1060 with the latest drivers, and I play in 1600x900..so the fps are not a problem, because I can easily get an avg of 70-80fps, but it stutters anyway making it unplayable...what should I do?

  • Check on your CPU usage. If it's maxing out with the game's stuttering. you are not handling the fps you think you are. Use an outside software (I used my Nvidia software) to limit the game to 60 fps. It solved my stuttering issues in multiplayer.

I am now at the point (after 2 help desk chat's and trying there methods to fix the stutter, and as of yesterday formatting and reinstalling windows 10 all drivers and just battlefront 2 there is still stutter) I believe its a bug in the game and there is no work around. I have see videos on youtube (battlefrontupdates) playing the single player and not being AS affected but if you watch his fps it drops like what we are getting but because his game is running well over 100 fps its not so noticeable but is still there. All we can hope for at this point is the next patch will bring a fix

Like @Wessssss21 said, check your CPU usage in the Task Manager (right-click on taskbar > Task Manager)

If theres something other than SWBF2 taking up a LOT of CPU, close it or if youre unsure about what it is, post the name here

I have an i5 2320 and a 960 2G. This game freeze's constantly even on lowest settings and on low resolution.

same here. multiplayer starts to freeze after a couple of hours of playing...using an Intel I5 core 4460. Although i don't think it's our hardware...so probably a bug in the game....or bad optimization? Game also eats up my cpu to a 100% at times...no other programs running in the bg 😞

I've noticed much more stutters and lag in the single player too, i haven't played much multiplayer but it seems to be more network laggy. i shouldn't get the frame lag i do with my specs so i was wondering if the campaign is just harder to run

I've been having the same issue. Campaign mode, training mode, etc...all the same.

I've got Win10, Ryzen Threadripper 1950X, 64GB DDR4 @ 3200, 1080ti and liquid cooling. That should be more than enough to run on my ASUS ROG 165hz monitor.

Even at 144hz and 120hz, it's choppy AF.

    Disappointing!
