Fighter progression is stuck at 1. I played for 2hrs, won multiple games only as Xwing and otherstarfighers - zero progression, still only one card slot, While doing the same as an interceptor class got me to lvl 11...

It's based on how many cards you got. More cards = Higher rank. Enough fighter cards and you'll have 3 card slots. Try crafting more cards for the fighter.

It is a very weird system and it's not communicated properly so it's easy to miss.

This system is REALLY BADLY EXPLAINED!!!
I've been playing for hours without seeing the pattern.
I was thinking it was due to server lag.

Yeah, the level is based on both the quantity and the quality of the star cards you have. I wrote an answer to another question here that explains the details: Reply #8 in "Interceptor class ship not leveling up."
