Free cosmetics for paid players (Pre-ordered)

All the player who get the game free on Epic are getting all the skins / emotes / poses unlocked for free. Meanwhile, those of us who pre-ordered years ago / bought the game are still forced to buy the emotes / skins with credits? Why is this?

It's cool that you are giving the new players free stuff, but why are you ignoring those who have supported the game? Seems like you are throwing us under the bus...

    The solution is to claim the game through Epic Games and launch the game. It will ask you to sign into Origin. Once you log in, you will be given all the skins etc. whilst keeping your pre-order exclusive skins and bonuses and you also keep all of your currency. Think of it as 'upgrading' your version of the game.

  • @ArazoroThe context of time is important here.

    People who preordered got 2 exclusive skins that are nowhere to be obtained anymore, only through the deluxe edition and even the deluxe edition gave minor advantages.

    This was when the game was still rather new and it was expected that players keep playing and supporting it with microtransactions (and preorders), mind that it wasn't planned to later scrap the lootcrates in the first place.

    Now the game isn't supported anymore and EA pretty much abandoned their hopes to make any more proper money out of it, so it doesn't really matter for them anymore if people get the cosmetics right away. Same for the Celebration Edition, it was near the end of all the free DLCs, there wasn't any great money to be made of this edition, so might as well just give everything to the players.

    This also happened for other games like Battlefield 3, where much of the exclusive stuff was to be obtained through special packs/items/preorders at first and later could be obtained quite cheap and easy as DLC/unlock code for everyone else.

    Earlier packs usually can't be changed in content due to legal reasons etc.

    So as it is free to some people depending on the platform and there is "no longer any care to try making money off of it",  why not just give it all free to everyone, as we would earn it all eventually anyway.

  • this is not cool this is like i buy many games and now its for free and im very mad but pree order this not special edition this celebration i thing

  • @ArazoroExcept im on xbox ☹️

    I just don't understand why they can't give us the celebration UPGRADE for free, on the microsoft store it is listed separately from the game.

    That way they could still make money cuz people would need to buy the game sepratly.

    I have almost everything anyway but still....

    it would be nice.

    @SwellingFoil266 Try this:

    Go on PC and claim the game through Epic Games. Then click on your name (bottom left) and go 'manage account'. Go to 'connections' and connect your Xbox account. This might transfer the free unlocks from the PC version to console version. I don't know if it works but give it a try.
