How can I not suck at this game?

I took everyone's advice and began playing Co-Op. Honestly that had not occurred to me before, but I wish it had. I've now pretty much maxed out Specialist and Assault. Now, I hope I can at least be competitive against opposing players in multiplayer. I've still got a lot to learn though because I'm often ranked last in the Co-Op missions.
For Specialist, the NT-242 is awesome, especially with improved cooling. Assault is a little harder to figure out, though I think I'll end up using the A280 with improved cooling and range. With that in mind, which player cards would you all recommend?
@billyyank1 Maxed out as in rank or weapons and cards? LOL. Because if you are at 1000 rank now, you need to be teaching us how to play.

Personally, I don't use any cards, just prefer to weaponize myself because I play Blast against 5 or 6 rocket troopers every day.
For Specialist I use the Stinger, Trip Mines and hardened Infiltration
For Assault, I like thermal detonator, recharge vanguard, and toughen up

He probably meant that he reached like level 70+ And unlocked most of the weapons/attachments
- @soapy_catuses Yes, I've skilled up to where all cards for Specialist and assault are fully upgraded, and I've unlocked all weapons.
The reason I skilled up in Assault is because the NT-242 or other sniper weapons are of course not suited for close quarters.
