I don't see my friend in the in-game friend list.

Hello there! I have a friend (He's Russian, I'm European) He plays through Steam, I play through EA App. We added each other as friends, but the game doesn't show that I / he is playing, so I can't invite him to play. What could be the problem? Is there any solution to this problem? Thank you in advance for the answer! 🙂
