I have a massive problem with star card duplicates

Product: Star Wars Battlefront II
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
What is your issue related to? In-Game Store & Crates
Summarize your bug My veteran officer crate contained a blue level card, bounty Hunter. I had just spent crafting points to get that card to blue level and my reward for playing 150 minutes as an officer is to get the only blue card I already had, therefore causing a duplicate. My duplicate ratio is between 75% and 65%. Since the first day of playing, I have gotten duplicate cards for hero ships and other such miscellaneous stuff that I can’t even get a chance to use in a game anyway.
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? SmileEase
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
Can you tell us the date (MM/DD/YYYY) that you saw the bug? Dec 17
What time did you see the bug? (HH:MM AM/PM)
In what game mode did the bug occur? Campaign
What is your time zone? GMT (UTC)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I’m not sure. But I’m sure you can understand how extraordinarily frustrating it is to work four days to get a reward crate and it is the only blue car do you already have. I still buy crates with credits, but only to get crafting parts because I know, and have known since the beginning of playing, but that is the only way to get cards for troopers for heroes that I want to play. Otherwise I will be giving duplicate Yoda ship cards three times in a row. My 2200 - 4000 Credit purchase for a crate has an extraordinarily low chance of giving me a card that I do not already have.
What happens when the bug occurs? Your crate opens and it shows me what I got, and unless it’s crafting parts or credits, the chance of it being a duplicate is so extraordinarily high that it makes it pointless to buy crates to increase my star cards. The credits are a total waste at 75 or whatever, and the only thing of value, which is not much value, is the 25 to 35 crafting parts for all of those credits.
What do you expect to see? It would be great if you could turn the ratio of duplicates to something more reasonable like 10% or something. If someone has a white card, instead of dishing out another white card of the same thing, why not give them the next level up since that is actually a reward. You are buying these crates to receive rewards to make yourself better. I have gaps in every single star card Vehicle or character except maybe Darth Vader and the heavy trooper, and only because I used weeks and weeks worth of crafting parts to even fill them up. If I have a class that is full, maybe don’t distribute white level cards to it. Distribute it to something else or give me a green or a blue for that class. There are many other games on the market and I enjoyed battlefront one, but this system is designed to trap people into playing for such an extremely long amount of time that it is far more aggravating than it is rewarding.

In summary, the rate of duplicates star cards I have experienced since beginning to play battlefront two has had me pulling my hair out. I keep hoping that I will get a crate where I don’t have a duplicate, and very, very occasionally I do. But even in the first few weeks of playing I received maybe five or six of Darth Maul‘s scimitar afterburner card level one. I have received one epic card and that was very early in the game also. Why does it seem like there is no chance of progressing and filling out the star cards, at least level one star cards, for all of the applicable vehicles and characters? I finally buckle down and played officer class, one of my least favorites, and I decided to spend crafting parts to bring bounty Hunter up to the blue level. I got my reward for playing for 150 minutes and it was a veteran officer crate. Inside was a blue card and a white card and the blue card was bounty Hunter. I got a duplicate for that. What are the chances that out of all of those card slots, I would have that one? What are the chances that I would pretty much always have the card? The rinse and repeat from buying crates that contain no usable items except crafting parts is entirely monotonous and challenging to the intelligence of your players. We are not mice hitting a feeder button for a dry mouse pellet, there should actually be the chance of getting something somewhat bloody decent. If you have the card, you should not be getting duplicates on it. Or if you must, it should be maybe 5 to 10% of the time, not 75 easily or more.

Copy that. First time attempting to communicate with EA. Thanks, and will do.

  • Not a bug, chief.  That's there by design, even if you don't like it.

If you have a suggestion for change, there's a separate forum for that.

Please close out the bug report.
