If this never gets fixed, here are a few counters to grievous:
You can parry claw rush, this gives you rag doll immunity for a few seconds as well as damaging grievous (slightly)
You can hit him as soon as claw rush finishes and he won’t be able to block.
You can parry unrelenting advance over and over again (this is pretty hard to do) this causes a lot of damage. You can parry thrust surge for quick and easy damage
Han’s shoulder charge rag dolls grievous when he does thrust surge (Han also gets rag dolled though)
Han’s detonate charge knocks grievous out of claw rush
Leia’s machine gun thing deals a decent amount of damage to grievous when he’s in claw rush
This is everything I can think of at the moment 🙂

aint too much to do since support for this game has ended. They never should have changed the way dashing works. Wait til 2023, you'll get a decent star wars game
You can also try to stand very close to a wall and hold block.
He can't maneuver around your back anymore and theres a chance that his ability gets cancelled right away if the claw rush gets too straight into the wall.
Also force jumping might work, especially when you're able to get to a high ground (large crates, rocks etc.) so he has no chance hit you anymore with the claw rush.
For his lightsaber spin thing I usually try to jump over him and try to attack him from behind, for claw rush I usually will jump into something high up though if I’m a hamster hero I just use wither Hans grenade or Landos smoke can be useful to escape him or even Leias rapid fire could work.
For everyone who still doesn't know: Support for this games has ended, means no further content updates/changes in any way, including bugfixes.
Means we have no choice but to deal with the new dash mechanic, whether we want it or not (no one complaing about Rey or Solo?!).
So, here are some advices I gathered from a fellow forum member and myself specifically for countering or avoiding damage from the claw rush.

My advices:
Stick as close as possible to a wall and hold block. Grievous can't maneuver around your back anymore (which is something) and there's the chance that the claw rush animation gets cancelled if that Grievous charges too straigtforward (close to a 90 degree ankle) into the wall/crate/whatever.
Beware however to still adjust your block to his position all the time (and maybe also dodge) because of Grievous' especially big hitbox size. He doesn't necessarily need to be on your back.
Use the high ground to your advantage.
Like in earlier game version, use long force jumps to escape/jump over him and even better try to land on some object (crate, rock...) so he can't hit you.
As any blaster user, you can still use rolls to avoid damage. However, once you see Grievous spearheading towards you in his claw rush animation, focus your fire on his head (as mentioned above).
Stick to your team, especially in infantry modes. He still can't block of blaster fire well and even with the final update he's not able to protect his head.
More tips are always welcome, feel encouraged to share. Those are good tips. I would also recommend using Rey and saving mind trick exclusively for the Claw Rush as that will drastically reduce his turning radius and invert the controls. If you take away Claw Rush, Grevious is pretty useless as that player usually runs away and hides until they get the ability back which will let you 4v3. I would also recommend placing Han Solo’s detonite charge on the ground and having your team stand around it. As soon as Grevious does his Claw Rush towards you, blow it up and knock him out of it.
@XxDeepDiveJrxXSome freaks put their sensitivity to ridiculous levels just for grievous, making it impossible to attack from behind When he does unrelenting advance sometimes. I usually just wait for the ability to finish and let my health and stamina regen or parry it.
@BooBooKitty9999Yeah, I've read that one about Rey before somewhere, good one!
Though I can imagine that a good player won't let himself bait into the detonite charge. Just seeing that thing somewhere on the ground is already a big nope for every villain, like imagine the floor is lava. Well, even as Grievous I wouldn't just charge alone into a 4 player team that's somewhat working together.
- @Bagginses2 Another way to avoid that is to avoid corners when fighting Grievous and simple back away when he uses that ability.
Anyone else been damaged by Grievous' claw rush while you are in the air - jumping to avoid?
If that is by design, how are you supposed to defend/avoid?
