EA Staff (Retired)@ggibb65some 5 days ago I managed to play Gallactic Assault in my local server with no problem, it took only 2 seconds for the game to find a full match. It was so much better playing in the local server, but I could ONLY play gallactic assault for some reason. Fast forward 3 days later and ever since then I simply cannot join any game mode in my local server, and a lot of times I can't even join a full match in the closest server outside the local one.
@Nitro747400- a few months ago, I had similar problems to you. Couldn't get a game in any mode on my local server (Aust 25ms). Cycled through ping sites and was able to get games on US Oregon site(247 ms). Everything played fine although I had a constant reminder of slow internet connection on the top right corner of my screen. A game update fixed the problem for me at Least I could play GA & HvsV on local site. But I still can't play any other mode (keep coming up with empty lobbies) US Oregon also stopped working for me. Again I cycled through the ping sites and found US Virginia worked in all other modes. This & my local site now allow me to play every mode. What I am trying to say is that the next fastest site to your local may not be the best site, so try the next & the next until you come up with one that works for you without lag & dropouts. I know this shouldn't have to be the way to go but until EA can come up with a permanent fix, it is the only way. I found the default setting is the same as my local.
@Nitro747400- What region are you? I spent time going through all the regions and usually in order of minimum milliseconds. Even when I was able to get a game the lag was so bad, I couldn't play it until I used US Virginia. All of it is trial & error and what sites worked for me from Australia might not work for you if you are from a different region. In truth, we shouldn't have to go through ping sites to get a game but currently it is a fact of life. EA included the Default ping which was supposed to sort out this problem but nothing changed at my end. I always use my local site as first option then change if I can't get into the mode I want. I will fwd to EA and get their opinions.
@EA_Ataashi, @EA_Atic - your thoughts please. I have posted on this same problem in the ping site thread when it was running hot but have yet to get a proper solution.
