killing heroes/villain's co-op

WHY is it every time i try to kill a force wielder with another one, I DIE?  why? its straight BS...

  • @snowflakekilla22I'm very similar in this until recently in Coop I tried fighting differently. Admittedly it's not ideal using Coop as it's not as difficult as a real player, but I realised there's so much going on re the status of you and your opponent, you have to do quite a lot of multi-tasking.

Some Hs or Vs I don't even bother trying to kill.

The thing that was the breakthrough for me (and I'm a horrible foot soldier/hero player) was making sure:

    1) keeping an eye on their stamina first and foremost before starting to attack myself. This is very difficult as the details are so fine if your eyesight is poor as mine is, and you have ADHD (as I do) it's hard to focus on all the things at once. It helps if other soldiers are haranguing the hero you're after, as their blaster shots can wear down the stamina.

    2) It's often a long-haul. I see (and had to stop doing this) many players with sabres just spamming R2. That wipes out your own stamina and if you're Grevious going against Obi Wan, you're dead (IME). Go in when their stamina is half for a better chance, and if no one else is attacking them, it's best to chip away.

    3) keep an eye on the red bar above them to see if it's worth continuing (they're near death) and risk your own injury/stamina, or if it's best to retreat a little and then go in again.

    4) Don't spam your evades either, use them to get behind, but also if a hero is attacking you from behind, roll back. Many players roll forward so they can turn around and fight. It's quicker to roll back into the attacker and get behind them.

    5) know the abilities, the maps, their cards, and focus on mastering one hero at a time. I used to do dreadfully with Obi-Wan until I discovered how to play him. He's so easy to play I must have been a dreadful player :D

    6) Different techniques for different characters.

None of this may be news to you, or of any help, and also it's only my experience, and as I've said I'm not good with people characters, as I prefer Starfighters.

Edited to add: I see you're talking about Coop, so this should help. And be aware that AI characters can 'cheat'. I spawned in, playing Han two days ago on Tatooine and though I began beating a nearby Assault troop AI senseless with melée, which was firing at me, something glitched and the trooper winnowed my entire health down and had limitless evades!

    7) My pet hate: If you're playing coop as a trooper and there are heroes on your side, let them take the Heroes out. In my experience it's rare these days to find an actual coop game. it's just a rush to 4k then off to play the map by yourself playing for kills. It drives me mad when I'm firing stinger pistol at Luke or whatever and Maul or The Emperor are zipping and floating around away from the objective; miles away from me and Luke. Today someone playing Yoda backed away from an oncoming Dooku on the Sep ship and ran off leaving me to do about 50% damage to him before he got the better of me and lightninged me.

    8) Heroes (esp on maps like DSII 2nd phase, playing Imperial) who line up in front of the doors in the hangar and spam Bossk, Palp, Fett or Iden ruin games. I used to quit those matches until I found out the specialist is much sneakier ... effectively 'stealing' their kills.

  • You'll want to provide a bit more detail, if you want some help. A video showing the issue would be useful.
