Looking for Audio Suggestions for a Wireless headset

I honestly play 1 game a lot. Battlefront II. I don't have a lot of time for gaming but I do want to enjoy the experience when I do. I am looking at getting a wireless Headset for when I play. i don't want a wired headset anymore.

I am looking at a Sennheiser RS 165 or 175 but wanted to see if anyone else is using a wireless headset and if they have a suggestion of one that has good sound.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

  • Hello DarthClippy!

I use the Steelseries Arctis 7 2019 wireless headset and I am pretty satisfied.

First of all if your head can’t be to big, but if it isn’t it will sit very comfortable. The ear cushion feels good and your ears really feel more in the game.

Secondly, there is a software called steelseries engine 3. And it is great. You can modify your headset and sound all you want. You can enable surrond sound and mess with your audio settings. I reccommend searching some good profiles on google. The good thing about this is if you want explosions in the game to be more quiet and the footsteps be louder, it is possible (same goes for better music quality etc).

I cant complain about the range. I can easily go to the toilet next doors and go downstairs to grab some food. It’s nothing over the top btw. Its just for nearby things. I don’t really blast audio trough my headset (pc at 18 and the scroll wheel of the headset at +- 80%) so the battery life is pretty great, around 16 hours I think.

Now I dont have a lot of complaints, but there are some.first of all the mic sounds pretty dark. I mean your voice won’t come out as crisp as it does in other headsets. Secondly it can’t be used as a buethooth headset. You have to use a 3.5 mm cable. Last but certainly not least, the surrounds sound isn’t that great. Personally I don’t really mind it but if you are looking for a perfect surrond sound this headset isn’t for you.

I hope this can help you out a bit. Have a great day!

I have a friend who has the Steel Series 7 and I tried it. I honestly did not like how it felt when I was wearing it. ☹️

    Hey @DarthClippy

I'm using Logitech G933 wireless headset for over 2 years now and I'm pretty happy with it 🙂 Probably one of the best PC equipment purchase that I've ever made. Logitech even made an Inferno Squad version of it, but I don't think it's available to buy anymore ☹️

@EA_Ataashi . How is the Bass on that head set? Sometimes i want to feel the bass from a Wookie Thermal Exploder. lol.

Also reading the reviews I see some people say they have issues with connectivity and the software updates often are buggy. I also read that the sound is great for the price but some have said the volume is an issue.

Are there any * you may have experienced with that headset?

Thanks for the feedback. I added that to my list on Amazon.

    @DarthClippy

Bass is pretty decent 🙂 Yeah, it sometimes has some issues with connectivity, but simply turning it off and on usually solves it for me. I also don't have any complaints about the volume, but I am not a very demanding customer in general 😉

I'd say that after almost 3 years of using, it's holding up pretty good. My friend complained a bit about its ear cups not being quite comfortable at first. I use it quite a lot with my phone and PS4 - works pretty well. If you are going to use the mic, it might take some time to find right settings. I remember that my team mates on PS4 sometimes could hear loud cracks, while on PC it was always crystal clear. I never played around much with its software, but I would say the custom profiles might be quite handy for you - you get set up one with turned up bass if you want.

Overall, I'm still very happy with it.
