Every time i try start my star wars battlefront 2 which is on epic games, it will take around ten seconds to do anything and then origin will refresh. Ive tried reinstalling battlefront and origin and launching them both in administrator. ive tried making origin compatible to windows 8 however neither of these methods work. Can somebody please find a solution

Ive now fixed my game by typing into windows search "environment variables" and opening the first choice. i then clicked environment variables and deleted the entry GAME_DATA_DIR. i then restarted my pc and battlefront worked

I just signed into the forum for the first time to try and help, This was just now happening to me, when I went to investigate it is an on-going issue unfortunately, so I'll give you some basic steps:

1. Allow Origin and Battlefront through your antivirus (doubt it helps)
2. Verify your game files via steam or origin.
3. Update your Operating System, and then make sure to check for Video driver updates.
4. Put the root EXE file for Battlefront 2 as run as administrator (remember this)
5. If it still does NOT work. Take the run as administrator away and only have fullscreen optimizations on (THIS ACTUALLY WORKED FOR ME)
After I verified the game was running like intended, I went ahead and removed the fullscreen optimizations and played the game fully.

I hope this helps quite a bit as I had to do my own testing as it was not written anywhere I've looked.

unfortunately thse steps did not work for me. I may add that this happened quite a while ago which resulted in me stop playing the game and i reinstalled it recently to see if the problem had gone

i think you need to managed my account linked, if you play on steam is not require to conect on epic laucher

@Darthmo_O1O What worked for me whas simply repair my SSD with CMD (Admin) > CHKDSK x: /r

(Change X: to the letter of the disk drive, select the options to run chkdsk offline, on system restart. DON'T SHUTDOWN YOUR COMPUTER WHILE RUNNIG CHKDSK! This should take many hours, but you will be certain that won't be your disk drive failure. I strongly recommend doing this monthly and on all your disk drives)

I saw that solution in a video too but when i search for environment variables in windows search nothing pops up, what should i do ?

So this is strange and so basic it's dumb. I fixed my no launch issue by making a shortcut on my desktop. I have no clue why, but it finally launched and can be played. Worth a shot if you haven't tried it.
