Offline galactic assault would have me playing this game for a very long time. Would love to be able to do that geonosis map and get in the AT-TE. Such a missed opportunity

As for the idea that they could end up in a BF3 title; I’m not convinced.
BF1 provided great gameplay. People complained that it didn’t have a campaign, etc; but what it provided was stable and balanced.
BF2 proved to me, and the rest of the gaming industry, that EA / DICE really have zero experience writing a game like this. The campaign story was great, however, the logic behind the mechanics is literally a 1/10. I’m not talking about bugs, I’m talking about mechanic logic. I could have written a better game and I have zero years writing games but having been gaming for 30 years I know what elements to look for and they’re not here.
I didn’t buy Squadrons because EA hasn’t proven to me they can deploy and support a non sports title. If EA / DICE is behind BF3 there’s a high chance I won’t buy it. Especially with the support response. People here asked for MAJOR gameplay fixes as well as enhancements and what did the Devs do? Release more low quality content. They didn’t listen to us.
I believe EA’s contract with Disney for Star Wars is set to expire in 2023. Hopefully Disney pulls the plug and seeks another studio. I’ve actually spoken with individuals with Disney investor relations on this to submit evidence for why this should happen.
EA has enough time to cook out a BF3 in that time but I won’t hold my breath that they’re going to build a balanced game. It’ll likely be more of their poor logic nonsense.
Now, if EA opens up a focus group or actually communicates with the community then maybe they’ll convince me that they’re actually trying but so far everything about BF2 from its development as well as support has been abysmal.
