PC - game won't launch today.

[LAST EDIT] Arcade is playable after uninstalling it from my ssd and reinstalling it on my hdd c:/ .Also please check boot options for dx12 before uninstalling because i didn't do it (windows update today). Currently waiting for the game to be fully downloaded.

So i've played for 30h for the last 3 days, no problem at all, no crash, no bug except the text msg, today the game won't launch after i have tried everything, except a windows restoration maybe.

i5 6500 | 16gb | 1070gtx | drivers nvidia up to date

Today, windows update who took like 30min+, ok.

Now, a few hours later, i try to launch it from Origins, it is a black screen for 10seconds (no intro cinematic), it comes back to the desktop for 1sec with a kind of low resolution + the game icon in the bottom deskbar, then black screen for 1sec, then back to desktop.

I tried to repair the game, update it too several times, reboot PC, launch it through Nvidia geforce experience with low settings, optimized too, always the same thing when i try to start the game.

What do?

ps : trying to reinstall Origins.. it didn't change anything.

ps2 : Reinstalling the game on another drive... : IT WORKS! Every options i changed in game yesterday and before are still there. also read @III_JJB_III post to check boot options before uninstall/reinstall on another drive/part.

    Did you enable DirectX12?
    If so, your problem might be caused by that. You can disable it by changing "GstRender.EnableDx12 1” to "GstRender.EnableDx12 0" in the boot options file located in the Battlefront II folder inside your documents directory.

    Also you could try if the game launches when you delete that folder (Maybe back it up before you do so!).

    Stopped working for me last night after the recent windows update. Game launches, then as the dice logo appears the game quits to desktop. Ive uninstalled origin and the game, tried launching on optmized settings and reduced settings to the same result, back to desktop no error msgs or anything. Yesterday on the first attempt I managed to open the daily crate, but it quit to desktop before I could see what was in it. I’ve not got that far again. Any help would be great.

    I7 6800k 4.18ghz
    16gb ram
    Titan x pascal.

    @III_JJB_III  I've read about dx12 problems and if i remember correctly it was disabled in game, but i'm gonna check the boot options there next time so thank you.

    i'm installing the game on C:/ atm :D

    if i'm convinced it's not about the game install then it's about the windows update.

    @TrichomeWarriorwell i should have done that before uninstall/reinstall, so windows restoration should fix everything, right ? :-p

    Time to get lost even more.

    So the pre-access version of the game deluxe edition was installed on a ssd.

    After a night of sleep and a windows update, game wouldn't launch. That i'm sure of.

    Now i'm installing it on my hdd c:/  i launched it while downloading and it's playable i mean Arcade is available i can choose a character.

    I don't understand anything because it feels weird now that it works only after reinstalling it on another drive, so my guess is that the multiple versions of the game + new patch caused by pre-access versions of the game into worldwide launch + the removing of the crystals (who knows.) just f'd up everything.

    The truth is out there.

    Please don't tell me that i have to reinstall it on c. My main disk is only for progrmas for God sake, and i don't even have free space on it. Also waiting 8 hours for download... this is ridiculous. You think some patch in the future will fix this?

    @Pacek89 i don't know about the patch brother...

    I had to make 15gb of space on c: to install it, but in the end it was worth ^-^ only 1 and a half hour to finish the download.

    It works fine for hours, and suddenly the game won't launch.

    To be the guinea pigs is starting to annoy me.

    The only thing I noticed yesterday is that setting the game's .exe to always run as administrator causes it to crash to desktop at launch. Other than that, I also don't know what is going on ☹️

    Edit: BTW, which Windows version are you using?

    The best way to launch the game was to close Origins, relaunch, update game, reboot, launch Origins + game.

    Anyways it seems like they kinda fixed it with the multiple patches they added recently, as easier it is for me to get the game launched without the blackscreens to desktop.
