Performance issues with Windows 10 Update 1803
Hello there.
Over the weekend my PC forced me to download and install the newest Windows update (1803). After doing so, I noticed some serious performance issues with BF2. Not only did I get loads of stuttering, lagging and freezing - which, at this point, is a common occurance that seems to be rooted on the server side of things - but for the first time, I got severe frame drops. I've balanced my settings in a way that I get between 50 and 60 fps almost everywhere, with rare drops to around 45-ish. But after the update, I couldn't get more than maybe 40 or 45 fps at the most, with drops to below 20. Lowering my settings a notch in several places didn't do a thing. And I don't mean "not much", I mean "not a thing".
As additional information: I have checked my PC performance during gameplay. There aren't any new background programs doing weird stuff, but the Battlefront 2.exe itself uses up a lot more CPU and GPU than it did before. And yes, all drivers are up to date, even those that cannot possibly have any impact on gaming performance.
I am not sure if this is a problem that can be dealt with on the Dice/EA side of things, since it wasn't a game patch that messed things up, but a Windows Update. Still... Microsoft wouldn't even give me the time of day, let alone a solution aside from "turning it off and on again". So maybe if anyone went through the same trouble and has found a solution... I'd be a) all ears and b) gratefull, because for now, the only workaround was removing the update and killing the Windows Update Service in the intestines of my system - which really isn't the best way to go, I'd wager.

It does work! Now I need to find what is interfering with the game.
Thanks!
