I took the trouble to read all the notes in the latest hotfix and it seemed to allude to "other issues" being resolved on the 20th Aug or earlier.
Can you confirm?

NEWSFLASH:
Servers are down for routine maintenance this morning from 9:00 - 9:30am
See below link for new info...
It has been moved to a later date.

Here's what F8RGE said, make of it what you will...
"We do have a fix for the ping site issue, and it's currently scheduled to go into the August update. The problem is, even if we put that fix into a standalone patch now and go through the entire deployment process, by the time it was released it would likely cross over with the release of the August update. We can also only have one patch going through submission at the same time."
My personal reactions are...
- WHEN is the August update? It's too vague, an exact date would be helpful?
- WHY can only one patch go through submission at a time? Is that an EA policy or is there some technical reason? I wonder why this information was included in the statement purely on the basis of titles such as Fortnite and Sea of Thieves who release patches and updates far more regularly and don't feel the need to make excuses for server downtime and client side updates!
- HOW has it taken this long to sort out a fix for this, we were told it was high priority but the evidence contradicts this?
- AND... will we all be compensated for this game breaking (and poorly communicated) issue with something more substantial than an emote/victory pose/a few measly credits/some other form of joke "we're sorry" crate?
Oh... and thanks for the double XP weekend when you know there's a major issue with the game meaning the majority of players can't take advantage of it!

Don't most of the updates (not fixes) become available around the 3rd week of the month or beginning of 4th? Also I am going to do a post in another thread regarding Heroes and Villains/matchmaking in GA mode in the next couple days. I would appreciate your (and others) comments. As far as the Ping Site issue, I am still using the US Oregon site (sometimes comes up a aws-pdk?) without any issues. Get a game every time (lucky me).

Yeah you are definitely lucky to get a game every time and dunno about the update release weeks to be honest, never kept check of it, just been happy to see it download (yet at the same time apprehensive about what new problems it brings, lol)

Hi everyone!
Since at this point the whole thread might be quite difficult to read, I will post a quick summary for any newcomers.
Main issue
Game can incorrectly connect you to a random pingsite, which results in disconnections and matchmaking issues. All platforms are affected.
Possible workarounds
1. Try to disconnected your device from the Internet network while being in the game menu, so the "Lost connection to EA servers" message pops out. Then try to reconnect your PC/Xbox/PS4 and check if you're using the correct ping site now.
2. Xbox One only - deleting cloud saves
- On Home, pull the right trigger, and then press A to open My games and apps.
- Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game.
- Scroll to the right, highlight the saved data for your gamertag under Saved Data, and then press A on your controller.
- Choose Delete everywhere.
- Restart Console.
3. PlayStation 4 only - deleting profile file
- Navigate to Settings > Storage > Game Data
- Delete SWBF2 Profile file (~35MB)
- Restart console.
Any fixes?
As it's been mentioned by F8RGE already, we have a fix scheduled for the August update, which is due to arrive on August 29th.

Nice one, finally a bit of proper communication.
I know I do not speak for everyone but personally (short of a date for the fix or this never getting to this stage) then that's all I was asking for!

Just to add more info in case it may help to figure out the issue.
I'm trying to start an online game to see if I resolved an issue I have that I think had to do with graphics driver. In trying to fix graphics issue I did a complete restore of windows 10 64 bit (from an image that was pretty bare bones). Then installed SWBF2 by copying files that were on PC before restore. Did a repair on game. Now I cannot connect to online play anymore. I could connect fine before. The disconnect network cable / reconnect doesn't work for me.

I have not accepted any solution for it.
Nor would I accept anything other than a complete resolution to the issue for all.
We await the August update like no other.

We're into the back half of August now.
It's not really fair to call it an "August update" if it's gonna come right at the end of the month is it?
Technically correct I suppose but the name suggests it will cover the month in question!
It's like when you say new characters are coming this "fall".
That's a season but who dictates when that starts?
It's so vague it beggars belief?

after reading all the threads here and in the main EA battlefront general forum
It is clear that EA do not want to
A) acknowledge how bad this problem is
B) say that they could have fixed it, but they let everyone go on holiday
C) give the players any information on when this will be fixed
E) try to show they are doing stuff but not fixing the main problem
F) care about player support or anything that does not make them moneyi can't wait for Red Dead 2 i will dump this like the rotten potato it is
