Be aware that the score board has the Kills but also the Kill assists count.
The difference is that you get lower point for an assist, and they don't count for challenges of course.
Could be one reason...

There are 0 kill assists. Look at the screenshot.
Scoreboard shows your kills + kill assists. Challenges only count kills. For the arcade mode, what you mentioned means that you are also having kill assists in the arcade mode.
If you look at the screenshots, it shows 6 kills, 0 assists. But it still only adds 3. Maybe it's subtracting my deaths? Seems odd.
