Re: [Info request] Aiming randomly drifts or moves on consoles
I have been following this report for some time now, but although I do believe there's an issue with Xbox aim (or console aim if PS4 players also have rhe same issue) indeed, I think some people reporting here might have been affected by Aim Assist and believed it to be a BUG.
To separate things here: Aim Assist is a feature of this game, which can be (supposedly) disabled in the options menu. Aim Assist behave like the following:
If you put your aim on an enemy and he moves, your aim will drift slightly to try to follow this enemy's movement. If the enemy moves too fast, this drift isn't enough to keep your aim on target, but if you manually try to follow the enemy's movement, this drift will "help" you keep with the enemy's movement.
But it can also behave passively. If your aim is completely still, and then suddenly an enemy passes through your aim, it'll drift a bit to try to follow that enemy.
This Aim Assist isn't smart, so most of the time in a chaotic battle it'll start tracking an enemy which isn't the one you're aiming at. This is especially notorious in Starfighter gameplay, as AI ships fly all over the place, and are hardly ever a worthy target.
Just bringing this info here as some people might think they are experiencing a BUG, when they are actually just experiencing a very badly designed feature of the game.
