Yeah, mine took 6 tries this morning and then was auto-connected later in the afternoon on the first try.
There is no doubt this is an ongoing issue.

Hello there,
I have sent this issue on for investigations. I also notice there some weirdness this morning.

There are at least three threads on this subject (possibly more) ... will you collect them all into one?

Looking over the last couple years there are literally dozens of threads on the issue. I would suggest a sticky.

@Caduceousdifferent issues, the error code 721 is very generic for any network issues.
The issue can be on the user side, somewhere between the server and the user, an ISP has an issue and or it could be on the server-side. Pinpointing where the issue can be/is hard to do.This is why I look for behaviour and why I ask specific questions to where players are reporting it from for example.

Thank you for the clarification. I was under the impression that 721 implied an server-side error, but it would seem that there can be a host of other problems that cause it! (See what I did there?)
I've been auto-connected 9 out of 10 times over the past week, with the occasional need to manually connect only taking one try.
Thank you for looking into this, @EA_Atic !
Hi EA_Atic,
Thanks for your continued interest.
Given that we are seeing multiple reports from users in Asia, Europe and the US ....plus no common ISP at fault ... I make the assumption that at this stage there must be some potential thoughts as to the cause (and what the eventual solution might be).
Is there anything you can share?
Still we have this issue.
I noticed sometimes this problem was worse than usual.
Hmm... 🤔
I too have just encountered this issue. I've had no connection issues since launch and now I cannot connect once I load into the game.
I have no issues getting connected and getting into games in Battlefield 1, Battlefield 5 or Apex.
As far as I know the configuration of my game has not changed, and if I can connect in other BF games I dont really understand why BF 2 would be unable to connect.

After no issues for about a week, I'm back to having to manually login. Average number of attempts is 5, with 721 Errors following each failed attempt.
No changes to my system.

@Caduceous @Geri_m3ster Thanks for the updates.
Studio is still looking into the reports. We are currently having issues reproducing being in a offline state when starting SWBF2.
/Atic - @EA_Atic I am playing through origins and i am from europe, hungary, I don't know if it helps, i thought i share it. I have no connection issues besides Battlefront 2.
Not yet resolved. 🤔
I doubt some other problems is caused by this...
(Like long loading time, lag or main screen issue etc.)
For some reasons, today this issue was worse than before for me. 🤭
I needed to push connect button like 20 times.
Hmm...?

I hear you. I hit 7 times today - much worse than the usual 2-3 attempts.
Once again, no system changes from my original post. Somtimes it works, sometimes it doesn't; and the only correlation with the number of attempts seems to be server load. On busy days it takes more tries and on others it automatically connects or connects on the first or second try.
Remember that correlation doesn't always equal causation, though.
Yeah, I can't connect at all right now - same error have tried like 30 times
It usually errors back straight away, when it works it waits a bit to connect
Right now, even when it waits a bit it's failing
I found this twitter today.

Having trouble connecting to your game? We're looking into issues with several of our games and services.
We'll be back with updates as soon as we have them. Thanks for your patience!
But it might be another server problem. 🤔
Any news about this issue? I don't want to be rude or anything, but i find it shameful that a company this big don't care about their services. This is going on for months! I understand that the game is no longer supported, but newcomers or older players are greeted with this issue, lots of them don't know that you need to click about 10 times to even connect is just bad for the buisness and also hurting the playerbase.

For what its worth...
Windows 11 helped with this issue on my rig. While the issue is still there, I don't have to try reconnecting as many times. As well, I've found I can more frequently connect on first attempt.

@DarthFDGThat could indication that bad windows installs can cause issue.
/AticMore of a Windows update than an install. I had Windows installed long before the issue showed up.
- Caduceous2 years agoNew Scout
I wish that was the case. I completed a fresh Windows 10 install on Monday and the issue is as persistant as the day I purchased the game.
I have attempted both my local server (Seattle) and the Auto Selected Server - nothing stops the issue.
I have checked my Event Logs in Windows and there are no network issues.
I have attempted to play from a laptop I own and the same issue persists.

Yeah, it's pretty much table stakes for playing the game, although I'd certainly be curious if there is anyone who never experiences the issue.
The good news is that (at least for me) once connected, I stay connected.
