Yes,it´s not really a traditional mouse acceleration, when you move mouse quicker the turned degrees are the same as with low mouse movement. DPI/sensitivity acceleration/deceleration is the better term. Your base mouse sensitivity is being manipulated (accelerated/decelerated) depending on what class you´re using. Define a length and test it with the heavy and specialist class (or with the bomber and interceptor ships). You´ll end with different degrees for the same length.
