Re: Star Wars Battlefront II Progression Update FAQ

Any "major" patch fixes for this update? In 3 more days, my game will mark a straight month of me, not being able to play it ever since the Feb 19 update came out. Is almost like I payed $80 dollars just to see the main menu crash. This is all xbox, not pc. I been considering a refund directly from EA since my game isn't playable at all. I'll see if this update "progresses" me getting past the main menu ☺

    EA Seriously no mention of this duplicate credit issue ?

    I reached max rank last week and have not seen a single credit from duplicate cards and now I have to grind the hell out of each class to level them up.

    If I received the duplicate credits as they come over the course of the game I would have had all the star cards I wanted at epic by now.

    Seriously no mention of this issue ? why didn't they just fix this 4 months ago it would not have been that hard and now they have just let it go and left all these players affected at a bigger disadvantage. EA suck rooster !

    Not sure if your problem is patch content related, could be a corrupted patch install. I have Xbox and haven't suffered this problem. Did you try deleting your local saved game file and then restarting? If so, have you tried a complete re-install? Does the crash give any Error messages?

    I have a forum post made which is called " Feb 19 patch broke my game ". In short answer, my account is broken since no one can't play that game on my account because of the crash. The crash gets no error code because it crashes me out of the game and not the server.

    Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "your account is broken". Is it an Origin account?
    The following was posted about a similar problem way back in 2016>
    "I had wanted to change my Xbox account off of my old origin account to which I went about by deleting the old origin account with the Xbox account still linked to it. After I had done this I then discovered that doing this and adding the same Xbox account to a new origin breaks the link and doesn't allow to play any EA games online.
    Is there any fixes or alternatives where the Xbox account can still be used to play these EA games online on the Xbox without creating a whole new Xbox account?"
    EA-David's reply was as follows: "No, breaking this link will remove your ability to play BF1, you would need to create a new account.

    This is an issue we are aware of, but I have no info on when this would change. "

    Is their any similarity with your problem?

    Is nothing to do with my origin account because I could play my Battlefront 2 with other accounts and not with mines. I'm sure the problem lays with the update since the problem started right after the update. Is an account issue that is impossible for me to fix and right now it lays on EA who have been giving me a hard time by keeping me waiting for long period of times. My origin account was never messed with either so I'm sure is the update that broke something on my account. The reason why I'm saying that my origin account is not the problem because I could currently play Battlefront 1 and other EA games with no problem from my account.

    OK. It was just another option I thought may have been the problem. It looks like you've covered all account problems. If I come across other people with same issue and have solved it, I will let you know.

    I know this sounds crazy but I have a strong feeling that I'm the only one with this issue. EA told me to wait for the March update which I did and it had ZERO effect at all to my case. I appreciate that you're looking out for other people like me and if you want to see further more, look at my video

    Just today as well, I went to another of my friends house to have a good time and I told him about my problem with Battlefront 2. This is the third friend that has had my account in their xbox and he also saw how my account froze on the menu screen and then crashed me back to xbox home.

    I'm telling you and anyone else that's concern about my case. My account is the core issue and the Feb 19 patch has some correlation to do with it since that was the day that my game has become unplayable. I have xbox clips of me playing Battlefront 2 a day before the patch as well.

    The EA expert team is working for a solution but I honestly think that my data will be deleted or my problem won't ever reach a solution. I guess out of all the people who purchased the game, I was the only one who can't play it, it's been like for more than a month now.

    I've notice that my post got taken down. EA is funny lmaooooo.

    Either way the problem isn't hardware (I believe). I don't have a external hard drive either. I'm losing hope on this game because I don't know what can be done to be fix this.

    RE the ext HD, I was going to suggest you move your game save file to it, disconnect it and then delete the file and the associated Cloud file that it syncs with. This would bring your game back to when you first started but with all updates installed. From what I've seen in your video, it appears that there is nothing wrong with the game installation nor the patch installations leading me to conclude that one of the save game files is corrupted not allowing a proper sync. You can't delete the cloud file without deleting the local file (thus losing all your data) but you can delete the local file by itself and then the game will automatically create another local file and resync so your data is not lost. The external hard drive idea was so that you could backup your local saved game file & keep your data. 

    Have you tried deleting the local file only and if so did the sync happen when you restarted the game?

    Because you can play under another username seems to confirm that synchronising the save game files is the problem.

    EA told me a similar idea but they advise me to do it with the internal hard drive. By deleting my profile account and the 4gb of reserve space, my campaign progress is the only thing that would be lost after deleting them from my xbox internal hard drive. Luckily me, I haven't tried the campaign yet so I didn't mind doing it and the sync DID happen before accessing the main menu of the game.

    Do you believe that it could a be sync issue after all and therefore, is it something DICE could fix?

    Deleting your save game file/4G reserve on your internal HD will not effect your progress if you have been online whilst playing the campaign mode as all is synced with the cloud which is available for each of your games through Xbox Live servers not EA servers. If you play the campaign offline( I cannot do this as my SWBII was purchased as digital download and if I don't login, it will keep asking me to load the disk) then yes EA are right. If syncing is the problem, you may be able to test this by deleting the files from local HD (not everywhere as this will delete them it from the Cloud and anywhere else you have played the game). It will automatically resync with the Cloud file on startup. If it doesn't then we can assume your Cloud file has been corrupted or is missing. If this is the case, all your progress will be lost. Creating a new account will have the same effect, you will be back to the beginning.
    You said you haven't started the campaign so all your progression must be multiplayer/arcade - how far have you gotten?

    I apologize for not responding. I was doing college work and I needed to forget about this issue for temporary time since it pisses me off and I didn't want that for my study sessions lol

    I tried your method and the forum I looked at made me think it was gonna work but it also didn't. I did take the issue to Microsoft's higher department and they're going to contact me soon. The EA expert team hasn't contacted me for like 2 weeks already. I don't have hope on EA to fix my problem but I'm hoping that Microsoft will.

    Xbox support treated me well. I was surprised how they weren't arguing with me and just basically said "we'll get to the core of the issue and we will find out what's causing this and how we can fix it". With EA, it was more of blaming me which really ticked me off.

    I can understand your frustration with EA & sorry I couldn't help more. It will be interesting to see what Xbox support come up with.
    One thing I forgot to ask, If you played on a friends Xbox, could you play SWB2 using your profile?

    You've been very helpful and I truly appreciate the help. You have no idea how frustrated I would be if all I had to do was to wait for a response from EA that seems like it will never be made. At least you're giving me support meanwhile they're taking there sweet time to write one. I've tried my account in multiple households. This is my account on a different household. Same result as well in all different houses

    (Edit) my file size for the pic is too large so I can't show evidence. If you need me to, I could try to make the file size smaller

    Don't need to. You have answered my question. It appears there is a definite corruption in your profile or saved game files that cannot be corrected by normal means. You were right to contact Xbox support as some times a problem can be with Xbox Live servers not EA.
    I myself (and a multitude of others) have had problems with achievements not being awarded and blaming EA for it when Xbox Live actually award these. Check my latest post in Bug reports: Rank 50 Trophy not awarded.

    The issue hasn't gotten fixed. What I did find out was that Microsoft told me that there's nothing they can't do in their end because is a issue only the developers can fix.

    This is a quote from the guy that tried to help me with my issue "We would like to inform you that we may have to try and get in touch again with the game develope for the issue on the game. No worries this time you can tell that you have already contacted us"

    I haven't gotten a response from the experts team at EA. I mean, they already got my 80 bucks so I'm all already done for. I might just start playing the classic battlefront 2 since is going to be release in the xbox one. I feel like I have no hope for this stupid game to ever get fixed. Losing a customer to EA is nothing when they got so many other customers that haven't gotten so unlucky as I did. RIP battlefront 2, it was good fun while it lasted.

    That legendary quote from "John Wasilczyk, Executive Producer at DICE" still echoes in my mind: "Change will be a constant in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (EA)"

    This is what, the second patch in nearly 5months? And still no new maps for galactic assault in sight and/or making the pathetic 20v20 a bigger gamemode....

    @pedromyahi11 - sorry to hear it is not fixed - pretty poor response from support.
    You may have to bite the bullet - create a new account just for that game and start again. I still can't believe that Microsoft would suggest a developer problem when the game works as intended if you use a different login with the same game/same Xbox.

    I've checked up with Microsoft once again and they 100% confirm it that it's not a issue with their part once again. The lady I've talked with discussed it over an hour straight and told me that if it was my account that's the issue, the issue should be present in other games and not just in one. We've ran trouble shoot stage of support all over again and she got into my account to find out that everything is working fine, including my internet. It is such a inconvenience that DICE launches an update for the game and then it stops working for me. If EA challenges me on that thought, I have evidence to prove that the issue is something the game developers need to fix, not Microsoft.
