Shout out to my Specialist troops!

I see you out there on the fields. Hiding in some nook & cranny, waiting for your prey to cross your path.

Specialist is hands-down, 100% my favorite infantry class to play. It's the toughest to master. Gets the least respect. Hardest to rank up. Most difficult to get a Top 5 in Blast

But the feeling of getting a Top 5 using only Specialist (none of those idiotic enforcer upgraded characters in Blast for me) - while the other 4 spots are filled with those idiotic enforcer upgraded characters is TREMENDOUS. You have to work your arse off to get that ranking, and it feels great.

Sure, would be a lot easier with a freakin' JET PACK and ROCKET LAUNCHER - but we aren't those players.

We want to work for our dinner, and there's no harder work than Specialist

And when you can Stinger pistol an enforcer into submission, all the better.

So I see you Specialists out there on the field, and I acknowledge your hard work and expertise

Keep it up.

  • After spending over 2 years barely touching the Specialist class, I decided to finally level up the weapons.  I never play Blast...usually just Supremacy and Co-op.  But I have to say I like the class a lot.  I find it to be the most versatile of the classes.  Obviously it has the distance with the sniping and scouting features.  But I tend to run the 280 burst fire assault rifle, and it's extremely good at short-mid range.  The middle ability essentially gives me a SMG for a bit with easy take down ability.  Mix in stun grenade, stun pistol or whatever else and I can be a highly effective front line player.

I use the new cycler rifle for the larger maps and the A280-CFE for the smaller maps and works really well. I still use the Stinger pistol a lot even though it's not as strong, but I mainly play Blast with enforcers everywhere - and it still works well on them. Then I like using the trip wire on inside maps because it never fails to get 1 or 2 surprise eliminations which makes me laugh every time it happens

Almost exactly what I was about to say. I run the same loudout but swap stinger for laser trip mine on closer quarters maps. Specialist can be god, headshots with A280cfe melts so hard. Can also pull some trolly tactics with trip mine.

  • Had 3 games of Blast in a row last night that were so much fun because I was playing as Specialist and facing off against 3 or 4 other Specialists on the other side.

And surprises of surprises, they didn't upgrade to any of the Enforcer Baby Classes, but stayed Specialists the whole match like me.

And so while everyone else was off doing whatever, we basically played against each other the whole time, battling each other on complete opposite sides of the map, taking turns sniping at each other. Was a grand time. Usually those moments get ruined by someone with a rocket-launcher, but they basically left us alone the whole time

Restored my faith in BF2, at least for one day....

    For Jedha!

  • Specialist in general need more respect. Across all modes it’s satisfying getting top 5. To all my fellow Specialist, respect. 💯💯💯

  • I've been trying out some toxic trip mines + repulsor cannon. I set up some tripmines around a doorway, where they can't see them, and then knock them into the mines as they come around a corner for a cheesy kill. Especially satisfying on the reinforcement clowns, as two tripmines is a oneshot on most reinforcements.

@this_old_mouse Lol, I got some satisfying kills with the trip mine on Crait taking down some ski speeders - face them straight up and it’s close to a quarter to half health gone. With pre existing damage and 2 mines...boom. Then someone got Leia and skilllessly sniped me from across the map. Fun times
  • The trip mine can severely damage the crait resistance speeder, just put it on the ground and cheeky kill

  • @grrr33nflashI love the specialist too, but I only play it with the A280-CFE. In fact, I haven't even unlocked any of the other sniper rifle's gadgets because normal sniper play is really boring imo.

What I love about this class:

Become invisible on the enemy radar

    Spot everyone

    Deploy bubble shield

    Weapon versatility

That feeling when you dispatch an enforcer with some bursts from the EE-4.

Remember how the EE-4 was called op in BF 2015?

Also as Battlefield veteran who always played high rpm and short burst weapons for medium ranges like AN-94, AS VAL and FAMAS, the A280 is just exactly what I need.

On the other hand, I always hated it when some casual feature allowed opponents to spot me on the mini map, so what could I wish more at that point?

Oh right, damage protection. Like having a shield that protects me from fire from all directions.

Though I'd disagree that playing as specialist is really hard or that effectively playing as any kind of enforcer requires less skill overall.

Some enforcer/aerials/infiltrators really don't fit my style and offer less convenient mechanics so I never really use them, while the specialist class simply fits to what I need. Making much BP is also not really difficult thanks to the cloak & radar combo imo, especially when using the BP boost card early on.

I had a much harder time to rank up other classes than the Specialist class. Actually, I ranked the Assault and Offcier the most by playing Co-op.

    My star card combo:

Bounty Hunter, Hardened Infiltration, Personal Shield

When having enough BP already I use Survivalist or Resourceful instead of Bounty Hunter.

  • I've recently rediscovered the NT-242 and have been playing non-stop with that thing the past week or 2. Love the cycler rifle, but that NT is a BEAST. Super challenging to use in small spaces and maps when your Infiltration is out, but that's part of the fun of the Specialist class - doing what others are afraid to do. LOL

But the NT-242 is pure 1 hit head-shot glory, and also does a lot of damage to those baby Reinforcement goofballs, which is an added bonus.
