When playing any online game mode, the sprint toggle button on my controller does not allow me to sprint. Firing gun a few times allows you to sprint, but once you stop moving, the spring button does not work again. The gun also fires at random. saber characters randomly swing lightsabers often

I am currently playing on pc through the epic games release of the game. I don’t have another controller to try or another game to try at the moment, but I troubleshooted the controller, and checked to make sure the buttons worked and everything works fine. Also for reference, pressing down the left joystick is my sprint control and the right is melee. Melee on the right control works while sprint on left does not. But when I switch them, the sprint on the right does not work, but melee on the left does. This makes me believe it is not the controller. Also if I switch to using mouse and keyboard, the game runs with no problems.
