starwars battlefront 2 won't launch from steamn

i installed starwars battlefront 2 on steam a while ago and tried to play it now, when i try and launch the game, steam stops responding, the game opens with a black screen and origin opens and claims that i have not installed the game. i definitely have installed the game. i have had no issues with titanfall 2 which i also bought on steam

    @rhubarbdedubarb Right-Click on the game > properties > local files > Verify Integrity of Game Files...

    Then wait, when it’s done a prompt shows that some files failed to verify and must be redownloaded.

    Please add details when you respond. Did it complete the file verification successfully? What did it say?

    @Carbonic the files verified succesfully , i think the problem lies in the origin thin install thing after reinstalling the game the same thing happens

    @rhubarbdedubarb 2 more notes, if i try installing the game on origin, the same thing occurs as when i play it on steam. and also the game doesn't show on geforce experience whether that means anything, i can't create a desktop shortcut for the game either
