Yep I agree. I understand BF2 is new to them heck battlefront in general is new to them but this is too much. I get killed more by lag and bugs then the other team.
@MiniPlate990253 I mean it’s new-ish. Battlefront I felt more constant and satisfying from a gameplay quality perspective than Battlefront II does. BF 2 wasn’t always in this state which is why this is so disappointing.
lags and bugs are one thing but hit recognition, imbalanced abilities / attributes, input stacking logic, etc ... none of those things are bugs and are more detrimental to gameplay, IMO, than anything else.
The Devs kept trying to add more and more conditions to the game and it’s clear that neither their logic nor the game compilation can handle it. BF 2 isn’t “WoW”, it doesn’t need the overwhelming amount of conditions to be a good game and it really doesn’t need those conditions built with such poor logic.
if the Devs had proper focus they would have kept the gameplay mechanics much more simplistic with fewer conditions, this would have allowed the game to be much more smooth and consistent.
As far as content goes, some of the gameplay modes were a good thought process (Capital Supremacy), however, modes like Co-Op are a joke; the AI is clumsy, the balance is completely missing; choosing the Resistance faction, for example, on most maps is a joke because the given attributes combined with enemy AI spawn and flank prevalence makes the game an uphill mess. Switch to the First Order faction and the gameplay is shifted in the other direction. Even worse, un-lockables .. rather than building in an option for players to use in game credits earned from gameplay for rare and legendary items they tie them to AGE milestones. So even though I have over 1 million in game credits the Devs want 5,000 multiplayer kills with a villain for “old master” ... that’s just a harvest.
the Devs would have been better suited to add on content such as skins and characters, which they did, but instead of cheap low res map ports, garbage maps like the MC85 star cruiser, or game modes like Co-Op they should have built in a battle royale mode. I, personally, am not a fan of that genre but it would have sustained the title and enabled sales resources that could have supported better content over the long term.
This game used to “play” better before recent updates and truly had a lot of potential to be a long term success but the Devs drove it into a ditch. They had the benefit of working with one of the most popular franchises in history going for them and somehow couldn’t apply basic lessons of gameplay elements that have been learned over the last 35 years.
