SW BF 2 crashes my system, SP won't launch

First of all, I can play MP part of the game. No problem there. Sometimes it crashes on loading screen. Problems start when I try to close the game or start SP part.
When it crashes it scrambles my screen like this:

When it happens on load I can win+D and then alt+Tab to game and it fixes things. Each time I try return to desktop I see shredded screen. Going back to game (MP) fixes and the game runs with no problem. Closing the game leaves me with artefacts onscreen and only thing to do then is to restart (using keyboard sequence from memory or pressing res button).

BTW load times are ATROCIOUS!

Another thing is Single Player Campaign. I cant access it at all! Crashed to desktop with display error EVERY TIME.

How is this possible? Running MP just fine but unable to play SP?

I tried a lot of things regarding restarts, reloads, file integrity, drivers old and new... Other games run just fine too. It all started with SW BF2.

I need a solution or at least a direction to solve the problem.

    I have a similar issue except the SP will launch and run before crashing immediately after 1-2 minutes.  

    I've tried all the troubleshooting steps, but nothing seems to work. Additionally, CPU and GPU usage is crazy. Its around 100% consistently. 

    People mentioned rolling back drivers, but that isn't possible as the game will  throw an error if it detects an older driver. 

    Specs: 

    i5-8600k 

    AMD RX570 

    8Gb ram

    edit : my screen doesn't get scrambled, it just goes blank or returns me to the desktop with messed up resolution settings.

    Hey, @HangmansTree  @hmtnotify make sure that all drivers for windows and your gpu drivers are up to date.  
     
    Are you on Dx12 or DX11? 
     
    You can also try to do a clean boot to see if there any programs messing with Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and turn off any overlay programs for example Discord or Nvidia experience.
     
    Try running a CCleaner to remove old temp files and cache.

    Nothing works. Still crashes, messes my desktop with artefacts. I have to put my pc to sleep and wake it up to get rid of the problem. Thats the quickest remedy. SP crashes on a loading screen, MP on quitting the game or alt-tab.
    I'm on DX11 btw.

    I partly solved the mystery, a "go around" really. Playing in windowed mode doesnt produce the screen artifacts. But game crashes all the same while trying to load singleplayer. No warnings or reports. Just good ol' CTD.

    I recon something loading the cinematic crashes the game for me.

    Any further advice?

    This is really frustrating as I am in minority who bought the game looking forward more to SP than MP...

    Well, what do you know? It actually works! TYVM mate!

    The devs and support can go back to sleep, community can handle anything, as always...

    What interests me is what does that line actually do to fix the crash?
