If I may offer a suggestion, it would be to allow the battle points to bank from round to round. This would allow all players to eventually be able to experience the chance to play as a hero or more expensive vehicle, so long as they are willing to play a few rounds. This would ensure the game's success over the long term.
I loved the first game and want to see great things for the sequel. I literally have more than 700 hours in the first game!

now this sounds like a good idea. i never had the chance to play as hero in any round since i died like mad after one shot. i was even lucky to reach 3000. at least in arcade i could play as one which was nice.
but i think this should be controlled. because if a far better player has so many points, he/she will use them after several rounds to play as heros only. for these players there should be a limit like if they have reached over 10000, they can play as a hero only twice for the current round they are in. regardless if they have earned already over 5000 points or more in teh current round.
