All the newer threads about the matchmaking have been merged here, so why not make this a Matchmaking Balance Thread?
I love it when new players join the game, but being placed against a team of experienced players isn’t the way.

Has it really been this bad? Half the time I’m usually placed into the bad team. I don’t want any of that, please.
Is someone asking for strict SBMM In a FPS after everyone knowing how much a disappointment cold war SBMM is?

At this point I don’t care if the game isn’t getting more updates.
16-30 guys. 🥳 This game needs better matchmaking. Squadrons has this issue too.
If this game is going to get more sales over the Christmas period, it’ll be nice to keep them playing, not drive them away.

I'm new to the game (PC) and it's a lot of fun!
One thing I have to say is that the matchmaking is garbage and it's so typical from EA!
I'm a total noob and being matched against experienced players.
Frustrating, yes. Being killed every few seconds.
But it's Star Wars, and Star Wars is fun.
Still though, very poor matchmaking.
@tigerstyle2k2Hi, the matchmaking issue is present since ever, if I'm not mistaken there was a thread about it from @FearfulWarpII .
We currently also have a lot of new players as well as veterans who got extra copies from epic games store and are kinda smurfing right now, so basing matchmaking on player level wouldn't make much sense right now anyways.
What mode are you playing? Either way, most multiplayer modes in this game aren't very beginner friendly, which doesn't help to unlock stuff as well.
As you seem to be completely new, I recommend you to play the Co-op mode first.
You play with 3 other players against a bot team and all battlepoints and bot kills you make for each class are counting for your progress.
Means you can level up etc. just the same way as if you play a mode against human opponents only.
This way you can get familiar with all the classes, starcards and weapon unlocks.
