The texture of some character models glitches out

As the titel says, the texture of some of my character models glitches out with some wild flickering. Its really annoying and makes it impossible to play the game sometimes because i can't see what I'm doing. It mostly happens when I'm playing Kylo Ren, Obi-Wan or the Heavy Class. But sometimes the other classes are affected too. I don't know if this is a bug, some wrong video settings, or something else, but I would appreciate any help. Until now i tested most video setting combinations, i checked for grafic card driver updates and even reinstalled the game. But this still occurs.

This only happens to character models and no other objects in the game, They all look great as usual. Glitches like Kylos cloak are happening on other players running around too.

If anyone knows why this occurs to me and how i can fix it, i would really appreciate if he or she could help me out.

My PC:

Windows 10

Intel Core i7-8700 3,2 GHz

16 GB

Nvidia RTX2080

  • Can you try to lower speeds on your GPU and GPU memory by 100-200Mhz and test it?

If it helps then you need to RMA your card.

As the words flow through the internet the first batch of RTX cards are faulty-capable, maybe you got one that is affected too.

Hey @Genarthos, I did hope that the issue would be solved. 🙂

I would say that oscillates is the correct term, is it going in a consistent pattern?

This idea may be a bit out there in terms of fixing the problem. do you use XMP activated in bios to overclock the ram?

    Hey @EA_Atic,

i don't really know if its a consitstent pattern. Best look for yourself. I attached 2 Images showing my gpu while playing battlefront. The first one is in the menu or spawnscreen iirc and the second one while playing arcade.

The dooku screenshot is just a documentation of my daily issue :D But to stay positive: I had to play arcade for quite a while (maybe 10 minutes) for dooku to glitch out!

And i honestly don't know what "XMP activated in bios" is or how i do that or how i look that up. if there is something like that its not by me but by default.

Thanks again for your continous effort to help me!

    Hello there everyone.

Sadly my issue is still a problem for me. I don't know why, but i got a little bit better. It happens not nearly as often as 2 months ago, but it still occurs regularly. I have the little hope it gets magically fixed with the next update everytime, but as you can see in the attatched screenshot, thats not the case until know.

But I would not write again if nothing new happened. I've noticed that if the bug occurs in the HvV wait screen, the character model is reloaded after pressing the Tab key. And when it is reloaded the bug is gone again. It's the same after a respawn. After a while, it usually comes back, but sometimes not.
In addition, I have a problem where I do not know if it has anything to do with the actual problem of this thread, or if it's even a battlefront problem, but unfortunately I've had a bluescreen twice lately on Battlefront. The second time, I was fast enough to take a picture with my phone. Unfortunately, it's just a common mistake and not a specific problem I could tackle. I know, the error message is in German, but maybe the picture helps anyway. Roughly translated, it says, "A problem has occurred on the PC, it needs to be restarted, some error information is collected, and then a reboot is performed." Just googling and following the link did not help me. It would certainly help me if someone could tell me if this blue screen was triggered directly by Battlefront or if it was just twice unfavorable timing.

I would appreciate every help with my problems.

You have a really nice PC setup. A new driver came out of the RTX cards this week, do you have the latest one? Blue screens are a fatal system error. It's possible your system is running at high temperatures or faulty hardware. Are you running the game at max settings when you play?

    Hello @EA_Blueberry

Thanks for your reply. Yeah i really like my new Setup too. I have invested a bit more money this time than I usually do. I wanted a PC that I do not need to worry about and with which I can easily play whatever I want in the next few years, maybe even stepping into the VR world. But thats off topic here :D Sadly the not worry and play everything without problems didn't work out that well.

Yes I have the newest driver installed. My Geforce Experience makes sure to remind me and I double checked this after your message.  I play on maximum settings. If I buy such a great (and expensive) PC, I want to use it of course.

I'm not that big of an hardware guy, so i honestly don't know at what point the system is runnig at high temperatures, what numbers ARE high temperatures or how to prevent them (except for turning the PC off, of course). And i really hope it isn't faulty hardware, but if it is, how could i find out? I mean, the PC isn't that old and so still under warranty.

Any further help and advice is appreciated.

I would try playing the game at medium settings for a good session to see if it crashes. If not, slowly increase it up until you get to the point where you get a crash. That's a good way to test where the ceiling is for your rig when it comes to performance.

Do you have your power settings set to maximum in both the Nvidia Control Panel and on your PC?

Sorry, if this sounds dumb, but how do i look the power settings up?
I will try the medium settings this evening. But i feel like that if this works it kind of works around my problem and doesn't solve it. I think there shouldn't be a ceiling for my rig when it comes to Battlefront. Especially because I have constant 60 fps (locked there through VSync (I believe)).

Yes, I know, a lot of time has passed, but I wanted to write some final sentences here now. It was really a faulty graphics card. Fortunately, this has now been replaced under warranty and everything is finally running smoothly. Thanks a lot to @EA_Atic and @EA_Blueberry, who you have so patiently tried to help me.

    @Genarthos

Glad to hear you were able to get to the bottom of it and hopefully the new card you have doesn't come across the same fate. Reach out again if you need anything and may the Force be with you! 😃
