There needs to be a better message for when servers are down

Product: Star Wars Battlefront II
Platform:Sony Playstation 4
What is your issue related to? General
Summarize your bug Can't connect, done all the usual troubleshooting (restart PS4, check connection, checked playstation network, updates installed, etc). But there is no message on this site about servers being down. The only message I get is "Error 721" and "check your connection" which is totally useless information to me. It would be more useful if this site always had a page that said either "We are experiencing server issues" or "Our network is up and running", so that we can come here and know how much work we should be putting into figuring out if the issue is on our end.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I don't know.
What happens when the bug occurs? Try to go online, can't connect, get messages that don't allow us to know if the problem is on our end or your end.
What do you expect to see? More useful information, it can be on this website, so that we know what is up.

I would say that if your networks are experiencing issues, and there is no way for us to find out about that, it is a bug-like problem.  I've seen it where you have a yellow message across the top of this page sometimes, but that is not always there when connection is a problem.

    This is a serious issue that comes back from time to time, whenever the servers go down. At first you think the problem is on your end, but then by contacting other players you realise it isn't. However I've already experienced a situation where I couldn't log into the game, but some european friends could.

    The message displayed to us is never that the servers are down, it's always an issue with our connection, or even worse, "This account isn't allowed to go online". I am reported on a regular basis by players who either don't know many aspects of this game, or which get convinced that bugs they experience or that affect me are actually me using hacks. Yesterday a player was calling me a hacker because Maul threw me down the pit on Hoth and I stayed alive. This is a well known BUG since launch, but not everyone knows it.

    Whenever I get the message that I can't go online I get somewhat nervous that I've been banned for false reasons, so please give us a lighter error message when servers are down.
