well i'd hate to break it to you anything beyond episode 3 up until now is poor quality and an insult to the franchise

@C-townladiesmanSequel trilogy was nowhere as near as good as it could have been - but I enjoyed the stories (Rogue One and Solo)
Edit: Mandalorian was also amazing

@HCarbonicPoor acting and terrible plot points and more holes. I knew everyone in rogue one was going to be killed off due to their absence in the OT. Vader made the film watchable. Solo should have CGI harrison ford
- 6 years ago@C-townladiesman I personally think The Rise of Skywalker is the only movie in the sequel trilogy that has some of the issues you say (except for the bad acting part, I think the sequel trilogy has the best acting in the franchise).
Not being in the OT isn't necessarily a factor that would mean characters would need to be killed (see: Jedi Fallen Order). The Star Wars galaxy is a big place and it's possible the characters may have just been elsewhere.
I think if you watch the OT and PT again you might be surprized the amount of plot holes and poor plot points you find. Star Wars is very imperfect and always has been (it doesn't change how much I love it though) and I find that most of the complaints that exist about the ST are already issues in the earlier movies. - C-townladiesman6 years agoRising Veteran@GeneralXIV Not being in the OT doesn't say for sure but I was RIGHT wasn't I? I'm also not saying star wars never had nay problems prior to disneys hostile takeover either. However, from the 1970s to the early 2000s has been a much more reputable time for the franchise.

Hello there and Welcome everyone! 🙂
I was mostly lurking in the old SWBF2 forums and jumping in on some memes. Spend most of the time on this forum.
/Atic - 6 years ago@C-townladiesman Sure, but there was an equal chance you wouldn't be right? And guessing the ending of a movie before it happens doesn't make it bad.
From the 1970s to the early 2000s...? That includes the prequel era, movies that faced heavy fan backlash, including the harassment of cast members like the ST, accusations of breaking the lore/retroactively making the OT worse. It was, by no means, a reputable time for the franchise - it was similar to what happened to the sequel trilogy, maybe worse. I think its great you enjoy the movies (I do too, that's something about me - I love all of Star Wars in its own way) but it wasn't a good time for the reputation of the series. In my personal experience, it's only been after the release of The Clone Wars TV show that the prequels have started to be appreciated by the majority and viewed nostalgically. Nostalgia can definitely smooth over some of the rough edges and the various problems in a way that the ST, being new, can't manage yet.
One thing is eternal (except for the Sith, ofc), Star Wars fans suck :P
I say that as a Star Wars fan.
This feels self-deprecating. - C-townladiesman6 years agoRising Veteran@GeneralXIV If anything the TV show has made star wars less mature resulting in a worse kind of fan base which has negatively impacted the battlefront 2 community.
- 6 years ago@C-townladiesman Hm. I can actually agree with that, I think 🙂 I watch and enjoy the show, but I think it has negatively impacted the Battlefront 2 community also. But I also think the prequel era kinda kinda took over the game too. Maybe an unpopular opinion idk.
- C-townladiesman6 years agoRising Veteran@GeneralXIV Yes exactly! For example, did we really need commando droids? The droideka would have been a perfectly fine infiltrator. To balance the light side wookies would only be playable on kashyyyk and in OT.
