@AnakinVader34 I think the reason for the hate isn’t as much of the toxic players but the reason why the toxic players can exist in the first place.
The Devs BROKE most (not all) of the blaster users in BF 2 with bad logic and bad mechanics. It wasn’t always this way; early on in the game most blaster users were underwhelming but rather than create balance they went full tilt the other direction and over powered them.
Blaster mains were never this predominant and many of them are newer to the game; exploiting the bag logic and bad mechanics. Many of these “toxic” players read or watch tutorials on how to do this and think it’s how the game “should” be.
I don’t main blaster users for the most part and love that they’re in the game but they’re absolutely broken. The DPS, the evade immunity duration, dodge recharge rate, amount of crowd control, etc ... all of those aspects are FAR out of balance for characters like Chewie, Hann, & Iden ... meanwhile users like Finn have zero crowd control and Phasma has no evade immunity to strikes. Leia receives health on elimination yet Bosk doesn’t; Bosk can recoup health with Dioxis but so can Leia with her shield?!? It’s all haphazard and imbalanced; it feel clumsy because it is clumsy.
The toxic hate is rooted in bad game design that gets perpetuated with guides & how to’s. Players think they’re playing as designed when, in truth, they’re leaning on bad logic and don’t even realize it.

@VetteC5RXThe problem is that in greater modes, blaster heroes usually get punished even more by this stupid anti-hero minimap mechanic.
Like every shot has to be perfect or else you'll be dead very soon because you can't block/dodge far/force jump/use tactical abilities like saber users when being cornered.
Especially aerial troopers will gladly accept the minimap's invitation to attack you. Oh, and once you're caught by a tank/starfighter in the open for a few seconds you're dead. Again, no force jumps.
In HvH however, the balance is so much in favour of the blaster heroes (if they know what they're doing) because they have no ranged opponents except the enemy blaster heroes and some few abilities of lightsaber heroes.
Also saber users (+infiltrator melee variants) are the only kind of playable class against whom it even makes sense to use rolls and where rolls are also highly efficient at the same time.

@TRlALON Thats true, that just goes to a lack of proper balance.
sacrificing the gameplay value in one mode to try and make it better in another mode rather than fixing the initial problem just goes to show the Devs lost perspective here.
IMO the greater modes are still broken because the number of recurring enforcers is too high and they’re also broken. Instead of dealing with that they made the blaster heroes & villains broken to compensate; so now you have broken on broken.
What’s worse is that it’s not consistent; not all blaster users have the same logic; Finn has no crowd control, Leia shouldn’t get health on elim, Phasma has no roll immunity, Bosks jump height vs everyone else ... they weren’t consistent among all the blaster users.
I get that Frotsbite wasn’t their preferred platform for this game but some of the bad logic that went on here goes well beyond that.
It doesn’t appear as though they ever thought about this game as a whole; just pieces at a time in the moment they were in.
At this point you’re going to have permanent hate on baster mains because of this and it’s the Devs fault. New players to the game are going to learn how to play by leaning on blaster users broken stats and thinking it’s good, normal, gameplay.

You're obviously speaking of HvV on PC, because on consoles PS4/PS5 and Xbox, DS sabers rule the world, even against a highly skilled LS shooter team. When DS Sabers meet a highly-skilled shooter team, they right away bring Boba and then tides turn over.
