2 player coop should be made possible

Hello there!

First of all, amazing game. It is a childhood dream of mine to have that immersive feeling of flying a Tie fighter. Now, with VR, that is made possible.

Unfortunately I also noticed that the multiplayer mode doesnt allow for a 2 player option, and the other three squad members AI. There is only a 1 player 4 AI or 5 Player option.

This is unfortunate, I would love to just play together with one of my friends and not have any randoms join.

Will this feature be added lateron with a future patch? How can I submit a feature request?

Thanks 🙂

  • @Hot_Mandu I agree, I want this option as well. I want to play with my daughter but we want to be the only 2 human players on our team. We just want to practice without having other humans involved.

I agree that we should have the possibility to define the number of human players.

  • @Hot_Mandu I wholeheartedly agree, would love to play this just with a friend and have the rest of the squadron be AI.

    Hi @Hot_Mandu

I agree, there should be co-op options for all game modes including the campaign; it should be the standard for all games nowadays because most want to game with friends especially now that cross-platform is becoming more of a thing.
  • Battlefront 1 got the coop play mode right. Not being able to hook up with 1 friend and play against bots without 3 randoms is disappointing. Too many games are leaving coop with a friend by the wayside.

For years now I've been playing Blizzard Entertainment games like this, where I'll create a game in StarCraft or Heroes of the Storm with my daughter, and play against AI. The fact that Squadrons doesn't allow for this is ridiculous.

  • Absolutely agree, some more co-op options would be great.
How about adding invite to co-op option to practice mode for a start?
I’m guessing that might be easier to implement than co-op campaign (which would be awesome if possible and much more interesting in the long term). In practice mode we could:

Help new players get up to speed in a less punishing and frenetic environment than fleet battles

Drop in squadrons, cap ships etc and co-op to our hearts content

Race each other on the checkpoints course

People could one on one dogfight if they wanted to

Loving the game, would be great to have more options on how to play.
