Base Max Speed of Starfighters is too slow

As said above, all ships except for the interceptor fly at a slugs pace, the interceptor base speed is the minimum of what all the other ships should be at, except for the supports maybe.

They end up being so slow that barrage rockets are actively being used against other starfighters with great ease and full stops are still being used widely for "mosquitoing/leeching" on cap ships, even if it ends in death.

all ships should have an increase of at least 50% of their current default max speed, it would also make maneuvers more meaningful and the "optimal maneuver" speed much relevant.

I tend to upgrade all, or at least most, of my ship with speed modifiers to avoid becoming a sitting duck, but even that isnt enough.

And with the speed increase it would be good to increase the blasters default maximum range from 1.000 to 1.200-1.300 to make up with the speed if necessary.

Flying an X-Wing is painfully slower than it should be, and bombers are even worse.

Higher ship speed would help with balancing as it allows players to actually try to be skillful to evade their enemies. And note that i am saying only max speed, acceleration and maneuverability should NOT be increased alongside it, because that would allow the ships mods to be more useful and actually have a point to be used to begin with.

    Thank you, im hoping Motive gets aware of this, it doesnt even need to be that big of an increase, like increasing 50%-25% of base speed of all ships would be a very great improvement.

    Most of the time i hardly see the point of using mods which sacrifice max speed since i would just die instantly no matter how much i try to dodge and evade

  • @KilroyWH78 I can not agree more. Actually, I think the interceptor should be designed with more mobility. Short firing range but more pwoerful.

    increased mobility could lead to some balance issues, but with an increased top speed it might be necessary.

    my idea is that with a higher top speed for the interceptor they could become a risky starfighter to fly in the process, kind of balancing itself  with a higher chance to hit something or over shoot its targets. as for mobility increase, it could be a mod that comes at the expense of something, like, hull strength or max speed, perhaps acceleration even.
