Trying different graphics settings hasn't much to do with if your computer can run it or not, it's about testing for driver issues. Sometimes Anti Aliasing / Anisotropic filtering / something else in the game's settings or Nvidia's software has issues. So changing the settings in both places to different values and on/off states can sometimes make help identify the thing making the driver/game unstable.
Oh, and you might also want to try:
- Disable Origin in game in Origin's settings
- Run the VC installer from C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\STAR WARS Battlefront\__Installer\vc\vc2013\redist
- Reinstall DirectX

A broken Windows Installation can cause all kinds of trouble. To scan your Windows installation for certain system file errors open a command prompt with admin rights and run the command: "sfc /scannow". A more detailed guide on how to do this can be found here:
http://help.ea.com/sg/article/how-do-i-run-the-system-file-checker/
Sorry I haven't gotten back. I went to bed. 😛
Disabling origin in game was one of the first things I tried. The age old trying to get battlefield to work tricks. xD
Just repaired the vc2013 installation and reinstalled DX So I am going to try it now.
If that doesn't work I'll run sfc /scannow. If that doesn't work then I'll mess with the settings more and see what the outcome is.
And if that has no resolve and it could be a bad windows installation then I will attempt an upgrade to Windows 10. But I really really really really do not want windows 10. Had it on my laptop for a week and put windows 7 back on it.
But if there's a chance it will fix the issue I'm willing to give it a try. But if it doesn't work I'll be pretty annoyed because I don't want to have to back up gigs of 3D to work and go through the process of installing all my development applications again which takes up most of the day.

So scan found no errors. I'm going to experiment with the settings in both Nvidia and the game but I'm not holding my breath. I've tried running BF using Nvidia's optimised settings with the same result.

So I managed to finish 4 games until it crashed again.

Thought it was fixed for a moment

I've run out of ideas, either an older driver will fix it, Nvidia's drivers has issues with 950's on Win7 in Battlefront or something is so deeply weird on your computer that I can only recommend a format and a fresh start.
Yeah it's a strange issue. I was just running everything on the lowest of the low and off and it still crashed.

Didn't get the Nvidia dll error this time though. I'm going to install older drivers and see how it goes.
Thanks.

I've installed the the earliest supported driver for my gfx card and Battlefront which is 358.50. Will post back with results. If this doesn't work then it's time for Windows 10 install. I don't want to but that's how much I want to binge on this game.
Result was as expected. Crashed mid battle. There has to be a fix for this. I'm upgrading to Windows 10 as we speak. If this doesn't fix it I'm not sure what else to try.
Im having the exact same issue, only difference is i'm running GTX 980M.
Driving me nuts and seems to be most games.
Did you find a solution?
Nah I haven't managed to fix it yet. I've just finished installing windows 10. I'm about to give it ago.
I already have Windows 10. So doubt thats going to fix it my friend.
I've also had Blue Screen of Death linking to issues with Nvidia Graphics so i'm assuming its an NVIDIA issue.

Strange that it doesn't seem to be happening to everyone... It's driving me crazy! All of my games are not working.

I've just seen this: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/PC-Freezing-and-Crashing-at-random-times/m-p/4958399#U4958399 which someone mentioned GPU fans not spinning. Seeing as I have an EVGA gfx card I thought I'd give it a go.
So I've just installed EVGA PrecisionX 16 which allows you to configure your graphics card. When I opened it I noticed that it said the fan wasn't spinning on my GPU. So I've just enabled automatic fan control and a wering noise started coming from my base unit. I'm not sure if the fans always been off because I've not had the gfx card for long but we will see what comes of this.
I have also experienced BSOD but I thought it was a one off because of the constant crashes.
I'll let you know how this goes.

The above has not fixed the issue. ☹️ This is getting tiresome.
- Anonymous10 years ago
I've been having this issue with GTA V, AC syndicate. The same nvwgf2umx.dll.
Since then have upgraded to 2xgtx 980tis. Tried rolling back to the earliest driver for this card. Tried fixing DX11, tried several other programs, just installed windows 10.. nothing helps!
DAMN nvwgf2umx.dll!
Makes me want to pack up my pc..
- Anonymous10 years ago
Latest windows update seems to have fixed this!
Going to test some more.. here's hoping!

Remember, you can give driver feedback here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/driverqualityassurance.html
- 10 years ago
Did windows update fix the issue for you? I've tried to update but apparently windows is already fully up to date. ☹️
- 10 years ago
Also, if you go to Windows Update it should tell you the update ID of which updates it installed so that we can check if our machines have it. Would be really appreciated.
I read somewhere else that Windows Update fixed the issue so lets hope for the best.

Thought I had it going then. But then nvwgf2umx.dll.

Is this likely to be a game issue or a driver issue? I've tried so many different driver. They can't all be faulty.
Do you overclock your graphics card? If yes, try running game in stock clock/memory configuration.
Another thing you can try is to reinstall Nvidia drives doing a clean install (all previous drivers are deleted and new ones are installed).
On express installation you will not find "clean install" box.
You can try that too: search google for a small program called ADWCleaner; download it from original site (something like toolslib.net). Read the description and if suits you, run it, click clean and reboot. This app solved many problems on my PC.
Hmmmm, This is my gfx card. I think it's factory over clocked. I've never over clocked any of my hardware.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0146YLI24?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Ill try the clean install option as I haven't done than. I've been uninstalling and using DDU then express reinstalling.
Will see how this goes.
Thanks!
As you said, your gfx is factory over clocked. I think this kind of over clock is not an issue. And DDU is very similar to "clean install" procedure, in fact, DDU unistall and delete every single piece/trace of gfx. Sorry dude, but i think my suggestions will not help you anyway!
Ahhh lame. 😛 I've just gone through what you've suggested anyway. I'm going to give it ago.
- Anonymous10 years ago
I've been having same issue and been following the forum. I just recently set my cpu performance to standard instead of performance via ASUS suite II and toggled the gpu boost on my mobo off. So far so good without any crashing.
- Carbonic10 years agoHero+
A few people in Battlefield 4+3 had problems with their pre overclocked graphics cards and this game uses the same type of graphics engine, you might just want to try and underclock your graphics card with like 15% and see if the error occours.
- Anonymous10 years ago
Since Battlefield 3 / 4, the new Frostbite-Engine reacts very, very sensitive to overclocking. Regardless of whether CPU or GPU! So if anybody have trouble with Battlefront, first try do downclock your graphic card to factory standards.
