Hi,

Originally posted in Technical Issues but reposting as it's a bug report.

I'm having a reoccurring issue on PC where the game is running *fantastic* and then out of nowhere the game begins to severely lag to the point where even pausing the game and getting to a menu is takes a minute or two of just mashing the menu button. This is going to sound *super* crazy - but I'm using a Bluetooth Xbox One controller and it appears there's some degenerate case where something about the Bluetooth connection or the controller is causing the game to lag. I have been able to repo this multiple times and I'm trying to get a video when it happens next but simply taking the batteries out of the controller and restarting the controller fixes the problem instantly.

I captured a repo of the issue and posted it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THg6jjXSubQ

Sorry for the poor(ish) quality - I'm no videographer.

Thanks!

  • Stopping the Bluetoooth headset on the same receiver improves things dramatically. But there is still some occasional lag, although much less frequent. That does not really explain why things were working perfectly with that same setup yesterday. But it seems indeed related to BT, possibly to bandwidth. Note that there might be 2 different bugs since @Slaughterloo uses a wired one. However in the video from the original poster @Cavetrolls we can see some Surface Headphones BT headset (not sure if connected though).

  • Playing with an XBox One controller via Bluetooth keeps causing the game to freeze, to the point where I got penalized for being booted out of matches.  Using an XBox 360 wireless controller with the 360 PC Wireless receiver has no issue.  With the XBox One controller, the image on the screen would freeze; I could alt-tab away, but I cannot kill the task.  After about ten minutes, the game eventually closes on its own.

  • Same problem here.  Win 10, xbox one controller connected via bluetooh, VR (index).  Everything was fine until about 30 min. into mission 12, and then suddenly the input lag was 3+ seconds.
