Can't play with friends on the same ip?

Hello I am having the continual problem of not being able to play online battlefront when I am playing with my brother, who is using the same router as myself.

I know this has been a problem in past updates and when the game was launched, both experienced by myself and my friend and his younger brother but you could work around this issue by simply restarting origin. This issue would normally arise when you would join the game off a person who has the same ip. Once joined the other person with the same ip, who was already playing would get instantly kicked off the server and it would yield the message that you have been disconnected from EA servers. I have personally experienced this issue a lot in the past as well as my friend who is playing with his brother.  However with the latest update, it would appear that this workaround of restarting origin no longer works and you cannot play battlefront due to it giving me the message that "you have been disconnected from EA servers". Once restarting origin, I would attempt to rejoin the server and I am greeted with the message seen in image 1 (you have been disconnected from EA servers). Then I tried to join again, then after waiting 30 minutes in queue I received the message displayed in image two (you have been disconnected). After this thrilling experience I proceeded to queue for any 40 man game type. This then resulted in me sitting on the establishing optimal server location screen for 10 minutes, then I tried to re-queue again for a 40 man game then after getting down to looking for 30% full games, I received the message of "you have been disconnected, please try again". So after queuing randomly for another 20 minutes I finally managed to join a game and get onto the loading screen. But as the joy-est moment approached of getting into a game finally, I was met with the lovely message of "you have been disconnected from EA servers".

Long story short, I think having two people who bought a full priced game not being to play even at the same time online, who are on the same ip is a real innovative first in the gaming genre but I feel it is extremely frustrating to say the least.

If anyone has any suggestions/fixes they would be much appreciated.

It appears this issue has finally been fixed by EA so hopefully this problem doesn't come up again.

Are you and your brother connected to the router via Wifi?  If so, this is most likely the issue.  Try to have both PCs connected via Ethernet cable and this should solve the issue.  I play on the same server with someone else in my house, but we are both connected via Ethernet and have no issues.

Hey Tony, thanks for the reply but my brother and I are both connected via ethernet cable to our modem so, this is not the issue. I recently spoke to one of the technical support workers and he told me to disable origin in game to solve the issue. I have only played one game so far on this method but so far it has worked, some more extensive testing needs to be done though. Here's the instructions that he gave me if anyone else is having this issue:

    Disabling Origin In Game

    1. Click on Origin on the top left.
    2. Click on Application Settings.
    3. From the left side menu, click on Origin In Game.
    4. Un-tick the checkbox for Enable Origin in Game.
    5. Go back to your Games Library. Right click the icon for your game and click on Game Properties
    6. Tick the checkbox for Disable Origin in Game for this game.
    7. Click on Apply.

Really?  Origin In-game was causing the issue?  That should not cause connection issues.  It usually causes stuttering issues, etc, but has nothing to do with connection.  Let me know if the issue persists since you only tried one round so far.

Ok, trying this new method did not fix the issue it is still kicking me out of the game. I feel this is only and issue within the 40 man game modes because when I last played I was playing the heros vs villains game mode, which previously did not display this kicking issue very often. Upon my brother joining my game, I get kicked out of the game and get the message "you have been disconnected from EA Servers".

I do believe this issue is caused by the new major update and I really hope this gets fixed because not being able to play with your brother and friends is really annoying.

  • Hi people/persons

I've had this problem too, total nightmare. It was barely an issue on release..but as updates have ensued the problem as become much more prevalent. If my brother connects to my game, we both get kicked and cannot rejoin, restarting origin does not fix it, nor does turning it off in game. Please fix this soon, this game is rapidly declining in playability. The lack of a server browser is a complete joke, nothing gets me feeling more excited than sitting waiting for it to search for games to settle on "Cannot find any empty games".

    Please fix

sincerely one of many unimpressed purchasers.
