According to Wikipedia, the average length of a Star Destroyer is 1750m (they range from 1600-1900m)
The length of a Tie Fighter is 7.2m
That means end to end, you'd get just over 243 Ties from the tip of the Star Destroyer to the Tail.
I've thought since I first got SW:S, that the scale was wrong.
More obvious is the tiny size of the Frigates on the Republic's side. I recall from Empire how big it was, and these are tiny.
So, I did a test run in training to see how long it takes to fly the length of the Star Destroyer. At speed of 100 it should take 16 seconds to go from end to end. It took 14 seconds. Which I suppose is pretty damn close to scale. I didn't do the width,
And as for the Neb B's, I don't think their scale is too far off. Check out this image, showing the Falcon docked on a Neb B.
