Dathomir: Can't make jump after mud slide
Product: Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Summarize your bug On Dathomir, during the slide down the mud hill after meeting the Wanderer, at the end of the slide when he’s to jump across the final gap and reach solid ground, an invisible wall blocks him from reaching solid ground and he falls and dies. He both can’t make it to the rock formation (get enough distance) and won’t grab on to the ledge to pull himself up. Something also "feels" weird as you fly off the end of the bottom of the mud slide.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? After meeting the Wanderer, you kill 3 Nightbrothers. After this, you examine a wall that you determine you can’t climb without equipment and are then promptly attacked by another Nightbrother who throws a rock at you and causes you to fall. At the end of the slide down the mud hill (the third of three sections at the last jump), you make the final jump to solid ground. This is where the bug occurs. No matter how perfectly I do the jump, he won’t get past the edge of the ledge. I have achieved double jump.
What happens when the bug occurs? Cal cannot make it across the final gap to solid ground at the end of the slide down the mud hill. It appears something (invisible wall?) blocks him from being able to get to solid ground. He cannot get past the edge of this solid rock formation and won’t pull himself back up either. It requires difficult jumps and timing, but this feels like more than just difficulty. The end of the last "mud slide" section "feels" weird. I tried for over an hour, exited to the main screen and started from the last save point, exited the planet, loaded another planet, then went back to Dathomir, and also restarted the xbox. Nothing worked. After many of what should have been successful attempts, I gave up.
What do you expect to see? I expect that Cal should be able to fly across the final gap and make it onto the rock formation to end his slide, either by having enough momentum and jump ability to make it clear to the other side, or if he falls slightly short of that, he should be able to pull himself up. But something that feels like a "wall" blocks him. There is no feeling of texture to the edge of the rocks like there usually is.
Cal also does his double-jump Jedi flip on the first "A" hit instead of the second, which also keeps him from making it to the landing. Thank you!
That video shows the problem very clearly, thank you!
It seems to be a collision issue with the floor. Your character is bugging through it instead of sliding on top of it.
May seems a bit odd, but what if you tried to double jump before hitting the very last of the ground there? So jump before your character sinks through the ground? You may have enough speed to actually make the jump. Worth a try!
