Amen. I basically said exactly the same thing and I don't think it can be emphasized enough. The lack of an online splitscreen, combined with so much of the content being available online, is going to push a huge section of the audience away from the game. In my case, it was my son and I playing together. The split-screen modes are the most "Meh" aspects of the game but how we would most like to play it.

I have to agree 100%. I bought the PS4 just to get this game for my son and I. It was a choice between this and Disney Infinity Star Wars pack. It was a HUGE let down to see that we can only play together in survival and training modes. Like some of you, I am just a casual gamer and this was meant as a fun father/son play time since we are big Star Wars fans.
Like a previous poster, I guess I should have done my homework better. Live and learn.

@dunjothar Don't blame yourself for lack of research. I bought an Xbox One Elite to play this game at the last possible moment (Nov. 16th). I did plenty of research and it was difficult finding a clear cut description of how much is available in SP. I read the comments that many had posted from their official website, especially, after the Beta release. Lots of mixed reviews but the experience they shared was limited. In the end, I saw my purchase of the console as an investment and the $70 game as a risk worth trying anyway despite the warning by some in the community. It was tempting to get the Season Pass but I refrained myself from purchasing the future DLCs.
I'm not a regular customer and so when EA released the first DLC, that experience pretty much validated what someone revealed: all DLCs are for multiplayer modes only. Good thing I didn't spend another $50. If EA actually allowed a Jakku version for Battles, Hero Battles, and Survival Mode, I would be motivated to get the Season Pass pronto! Doesn't seem like they ever will and for that reason, I share your let down.
On the bright side, I like what they put together so far in MP. Not enough to motivate me to buy the sequel in the not too distant future though. I'm just making the best of it during my limited Live Gold subscription. I suggest you do the same for you and your son. I do with my brother. We both tag team with the same gamer tag. There are some moments that can be aggravating at times but then there are those moments that are indeed memorable. Games do that in general. So enjoy them with your son. He is the reason why you got that console in the first place. 🙂

Thanks Smuggler007, thanks for the info. My son and I are enjoying the game.. mostly because it is Star Wars and we are big fans of the franchise. We play together offline, but I am having fun watching him play online as well. He is happy with the game overall so I am not pushing my disappointment on to him to spoil his time.
I agree about the DLC. Most likely won't be getting it. EA lost sales this way I believe.
