Do I have to have access to Playstation Plus?

I bought a PS4 this summer anticipating the release of Battlefront.  I paid $60 for a game and it appears as though I can only play 25% of it because I also didn't pay for the PlayStation Plus.  Is this correct?  If so this is really crappy to have a game that I've already paid a lot for and then force me to pay more to play the majority of the game.  Can I play all the missions without paying for the PlayStation Plus?

As far as I'm aware, is Sony indeed requiring PlayStation Plus in order to grant their customers access to the online components of games played on PS4.
If you don't want to subscribe for PlayStation Plus but still want access to Battlefront multiplayer the PC version might be an option for you.

No additional cost are attached to playing Star Wars Battlefront on PC.

I understand what your saying, just wish I had known that before buying the PS4 game.

To be able to access the online multiplayer feature you need to know two things:
    1. You need to purchase an EA Access subscription
    2. You can not share the EA Subscrition with multiple accounts in the same console

I have had this confirmed by EA support eventually, after spending hours with them trying to push the problem off to others (ie Microsoft)
