I am unable to invite friends to play co-op in Squadrons, nor am I able to be invited. We have each other added as Origin friends. My friend is on Steam and I am from Epic Games Store. I have tried deleting the origin appdata to clear the cache and it did not work.
Same for me, error code 4270
I am having the same problem and we are both on steam... I have checked the cross play and we are both toggled on. Cant find much to help on the internet. Appreciate any help.
Same here. A lot of people in the remaining Squadrons community seem to be running into this Error 4270.
What seems to happen is that some players will get basically locked out of using the friends list, so that all actions (spectating games, joining games, sending game group invites) will result in the error. Oddly, sometimes those players can interact with some friends, but not others, so occasionally we've been able to work around the issue (player A cannot invite player B, but instead invites player C, who can invite player B).
AFAIK there doesn't seem to be any actual relation with crossplay, as it can happen whether friends are on the same platform or not.
This is of course extremely annoying, and has proven a pain point for some of the newer people that joined the game over these last weeks with the sales in different platforms. As well as the usual "unable to boot the game" issues, there's been a lot of posts on forums about people unable to play with their friends.
We'd appreciate any updates on this, and hopefully a fix, as this game is starting to accumulate enough issues that it's increasingly hard to sustain a playerbase around it, let alone have any new players stick around and not immediately refund the game with a negative review.

Also having this same error code. I am on Steam and can successfully invite my buddy on Xbox using his EA ID, but I cannot invite any other steam friends using their steam ID or EA ID - I’ll get error code 4270 for all of them. It sucks because a couple of them just bought the game during the Christmas 2024 steam sale and we can’t play together at all…
We’ve tried turning off crossplay, exiting the game, logging back in and turning crossplay back on - doesn’t work. Restarting the PCs also doesn’t work. EA!!!! HELP!!!!
