Extremely bright lighting inside caves/buildings

Anyone else having the problem of really bright lighting inside interiors? The ground and wall are extremely bright as if its reflecting the sun which doesn't make any sense since the sun is well...outside. I didn't have this problem before and it just suddenly occured, maybe because I updated my AMD drivers but I'm not completely sure. The best way to describe it is to say that the inside walls/ceilings/ground are even brighter than the outside. Anyone sharing the same problem?

  • Thank you for the response. I actually went back to 15.7.1 drivers and I suggest that anyone that comes across this problem do the same. It is a driver issue that I hope they address in the Crimson update someday but as for now this has fixed the problem. I hope this helps anyone that comes across this issue thanks for bringing light to it xp

    Here are some screen shots:

Notice how something feels a bit strange and off. The walls are black and shiny (?). Also notice all the light reflections as if it's reflecting the sun.

    OUTSIDE:

For the most part, outside looks okay.

    Some more information:

    1. All settings are low.

    2. I have tried Repair Game many times.

    3. I have searched for similar problems on the internet and there seems to be a common problem of AMD cards getting some black textures.

See this reddit post on it :

    https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBattlefront/comments/3t8pu2/amd_graphic_issue_on_ice_caves/

They found a temporary fix by setting shader to medium or low. Mine is already on low so this problem is not the same.

    4. I have yet tried to reinstall the game or downgrade my drivers to an older version as of yet. I will try it soon and report the results.

    I have the r9 280 3 gig sapphire

I've seen a lot of posts about black textures in ice caves, which I also have and fixed with Med lighting, but few about the brightness that seems to plague a lot of the levels but you're right they are less noticeable in outside areas but still there.

I have the same exact issue right after I updated my drivers to Crimson and I am hoping that we can find a fix or at least get told that they are aware of it and plan to patch it; either EA or AMD. I would hate to revert to an older driver and what not but if that is what it takes.... sometimes it almost feels blinding and can actually make it hard to see the storm troopers in the snow levels. I had to search a bit to find my exact same problem but good to see at least that I'm not the only one with this exact problem and I am letting you know I'm right here with ya lol.

Thought I would note I have done a full uninstall of drivers, deleted profile settings in my documents, and just now installed directx software just incase but nothing has worked still.

I do indeed have an r7 260x. Almost scary how accurate you were able to guess that with simple screen shots... I have already tried reinstalling the drivers and it does not solve anything but since you state that my gpu is below the requirements, I guess there's is nothing I can do or look forward to to solve this problem. Although, the game runs VERY smoothly at 80 fps+ on everything low so I always thought maybe my gpu is above the requirements. Thanks for the responses, guess I'll be playing this game til I'm blind by the lights!

Edit: Oh right...I posted my dxdiag with my gpu info on it.
