What were you doing when the bug occurred? Step by Step detail is helpful. I played 10 placements, but I didn't get my rank. Then played my 11th match, still no rank. Then my 12th match, and it placed me with 100 ranked points. The very next game, someone leaves on your team, so you leave because the game says you won't be penalized. Then it happens the next game. Each time you leave 'without being penalized', you'll lose 50 ranked points. Now I have 0 ranked points and can't gain any. I'm stuck at zero ranked points.

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Can play, but it's highly frustrating
What happens when the bug occurs? I'm stuck at zero ranked points. Whether I win or lose nothing happens to my rank in ranked pvp battles.
What do you expect to see? A reasonable rank for someone who won 8/10 placements and topped the leaderboard every match, even on the losses no matter what class they were playing. That would be a start :P

What components were you using? all of the above -- I'm not going to list them all since they shouldn't be relevant.
Which customizations (if any) were you using? I think in my first ranked game I was in VR
Is this happening to everyone? Inability to earn ranked points? Placing as low as possible?
This issue isn't considered resolved. We're still investigating, but we've marked it so it's easier to find and read for everyone.

First off, thank you so much to all the pilots who have been playing Fleet Battles, providing us with feedback, and enjoying the game while we work through a few issues. It’s been great to see!
Right now, we’re tracking three main issues with our Fleet Battles mode and we’re working on each diligently. Thankfully, if you’re newer to the game, you should be less likely to run into the first issue due to a recent update.
With that said, we understand the frustration this has caused for those who have been impacted, so here is what we’re working on:- Some players stuck at 0 skill rank or aren’t able to rank up as intended
- We’re working on a fix for players stuck at 0 skill rank and are exploring how best to reset ranks.
- A small number of players unlocked the ranked helmet rewards due to a bug
- As the players who’ve experienced have guessed, we’ll likely remove these from inventories so they can be properly earned by all you aces out there, so we really appreciate their understanding here!
- Players abandoning matches is negatively impacting the experience
- We’re working on a new design for the overall matchmaking experience to make it better for all players. We’re working on improvements to matchmaking, lobby, and abandonment systems to make abandonment far less punishing for those who stay in the game, and less frequent overall. We are also making specific improvements for ranked play.
