flight controls not working on PC

So all controls have ceased to work as soon as I launch into a match.  I'm using a HOTAS setup with throttle, stick, and peddles, but my keyboard and mouse also stop working.  Everything functions as normal after I return to a menu, which because I have no control, happens as soon as my ship flies out of bounds and it boots me back to a respawn menu.  This happened all of a sudden as the game worked fine for the first 3 weeks I had it and even for the first couple matches during the last session I was actually able to play the game.  I've tried reinstalling the game and resetting controls to default.  I've also Alt Tab'd out of the game to check and make sure all my controllers were still functioning in windows and that all seems good. I set the game aside for a while and hoped that some updates would take care of the issue but that hasn't happened.  Anyone know what might be causing this or what to try next?
