Goodbye StarWars Squadrons

I must say as a pre-order edition purchaser. I was extremely looking forward to this game when it came out.
For the first few moths this game was awesome, but as soon as the next few updates and later addition to the fleet, and then more updates to solve obvious balancing issues, that should have all been addressed before the game was released. Thus we have all paid for a yet still unfinished product, that seems to be in constant development, even though we are told time after time, that there will be no more updates.

This game started out well and has steadily plummeted in its playability.

I find myself constantly mismatched in dog fights, unable to tell if my favourite ship still has the same stats that it did the day before, getting my * kicked by by players in ships with shield I cannot penetrate and that are so fast and manurable, that I cannot catch them. Not to mention glitchy hit responses when shooting you targets. You can see the impact of your shot but your targets HP is not effected.

Over all this game is more frustrating to play than it is fun.

I do not understand what is so hard about the development of a game that was mastered in the mid 90's. I was playing these X wing and TIE fighter games when the these developers where in nappies. Is it so hard to make an updated version with out all the balancing issues.

Anyway my rant and my thus my time playing this game and any other tantalising garbage that EA wants to put a star wars label on.

I cant ask for a refund of the last 5 months of my life back but you guys should know this game is not worth the time.

    I'm of the opposite opinion!

For me personaly the campaign alone would have been worth 40 Bucks - and you get two multiplayer modes (one playable vs AI as well) on top...

And you can experiance this all in amazing VR - I love the game.

To me it was worth every penny - would have bought it for 60 Bucks as well (but than I'd have complained campaign was to short :P)

2 mulitplayer modes with 7 maps is hardly a complete game. Also the single player campaign was boring and uninspired. The game A.I. was hardly a challenge.

Balancing issues have yet to be solved but is constantly being tweaked. Match making is a Joke and it seems that only a handful of devoted players still participate in games. Always the same names, but the over all player count is pretty low at this point. I do not expect people to stick with this game for long, after purchase. I guarantee if you compare how many sales of the game to the overall player base is completely wonky.

I really wanted to enjoy this game. I honestly think I held out for a while before I had enough. Well done boys for the effort to make this game, just don't release your products until they are actually finished.

Because many played it like me - as a single player game. And reviews have been very positive as well.

There are many games out there this would be a justified demand. In my opinion Squadrons isn't among them.

73% positive steam reviews and a metascrore of 79 imply that most people out there see it as a good game.

I played BFII from release date until Oct last year when I got Squadrons. I've not stopped playing Squadrons since.

It's my personal favourite game ever, and the feeling of being in an Alliance cockpit in VR is unmatchable; then the B-wing came out and I thought I had died and gone to Heaven, a childhood dream come true (the B-wing, not dying 😉 ).

True, the matchmaking is slow and then I am placed against God Tier players who rinse me, but I don't care (and I've only ever quit once - because of poor connection).

I'm slowly getting better, playing the campaign on Ace difficulty prepares you for the hardships of MP, and I think the hight learning curve is going to give this game a longer life than many suppose.

I wish I could find more FB vs AI Coop battles, but other than that I can't complain.

Yup I'd second that! Join a group. I did to avoid the frustration of matchmaking and queue times. Also, we now have custom games to mess around in and have some fun matches within the group.

There's more than just ranks to focus on. And yes I'd like to see more players online, but it is what it is and it never pretended to be anything else.
